“Friendly and efficient staff give a personal touch to service”
Reviewed 3 June 2014 via mobile

I stayed at this hotel with my wife and 2 kids in May this year for a week . We had a Beverly Suite overlooking the Beverly Shopping Centre. The room had a king bed and a pullout sofabed to accomodate 2. As our flight was delayed we arrived at the hotel at1am. Checkin was a breeze. Breakfast was included in our room rate and they serve breakfast till 11am which is convenient when you are travelling with the family and want to take it easy. Room service was quick 20mins at the most. Free Wifi in the room was good. They give complimentary bottled water in the room. The staff here is very friendly and efficient and give a personal touch to their service and this I think is the best part of this hotel. It is a child friendly hotel so good for families with noisy kids such as ours as you dont get those STARES from the staff. Some staff members deserve a special mention here for their good service-Alex and Shawn who call for the taxis at the main door, Sandra who served us at breakfast on most days in the restaurant and Megan at the conceirge desk. There are just a few minor things they need to improve on-
1) housekeeping is very slow and it would take them 20-25mins to get even a towel so it takes longer than room service.
2) the sofa bed sinks in the middle so it is ok if 1 person is sleeping but for 2 people it is quite uncomfortable.
3) the breakfast buffet is very limited and they should increase the items here.
I am sure the hotel will improve on these issues in time to come. We will definitely be staying here on our next visit to Los Angeles.

Great lobby and attentive service but mediocre rooms and issues with changing my reservations. The bed, the shower and bathroom products are amazing but the decor won't wow you. I paid a lot of money to stay here due to the convenience of the location but it definitely wasn't worth it.

Great bed, excellent lines, well appointed rooms, staff was excellent. The fitness center was awesome - as close to a true club experience as I have seen in a hotel. The view was gorgeous, we could see the Hollywood sign. Love the dark, sexy lobby spaces as well.

I stay here for business travel a lot and love it. The rooms are quiet, clean and comfy. The bed is so comfortable that I fall asleep instantly after a long day. The staff is also courteous and very helpful.

Room Tip: The rooms on the south side face the parking garage of the Beverly Center. Not a great view but the...

After a single night in this hotel I woke up with backache, feeling like a bit of chewed string. If you value a comfortable bed then, for the love of all that's holy, do not stay here.

The web site promises "the Sofitel Bed is a cocoon of comfort that transforms every night into a marvelously refreshing experience."

No, the Sofitel bed is a hard base with a feather topper on it. The feather topper is considerably smaller than the mattress, giving it the stepped effect of a Mayan pyramid, complete with a slope to throw the bodies down.

The hotel clearly doesn't turn the topper regularly, so it is lumpy and flattened down at the head of the bed but stays fluffy at the bottom. And so your feet end up about two inches higher than your head. Have a look at the accompanying photo - does it look like a cocoon of comfort?

It's a god-awful uncomfortable bed. The staff seem nice, the hotel is clean and attractive, but I prioritise a decent night's sleep over anything else. Three nights later and my back and legs still ache. Thanks, Sofitel.

There are so many things right about this hotel it's hard to know where to begin. Staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are good sized with one of the most comfortable beds ever. Location is near a lot of popular tourist venues and some nice restaurant options. The concierge is helpful with a strong understanding of the area. The only negative for me was they only have valet parking so getting my car took some time.

I had the opportunity to attend to a wonderful event from UC Santa Cruz at this location tonight and I was very impressed by the care and costumer service by Natasha Danna. Thank you Natasha for going out of the way to please our guests on table 18.
