The hotel is a little old but clean and absolutely fine. The eating area is quite small; take advice from the hotel manager as to when to go so that you get to have a seat. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The internet was not good; we complained to management and they gave us a discount which certainly helped. The pool looked nice but we didn't get a chance to use it as the weather wasn't too warm. Very handy to Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre etc

Location is ok and rooms are ok too. But the manager who works in the morning is the most disrespectful and racist man that I have seen in my life. He treats so bad the cleaning crew and he was very rude with me because I came in, to take my breakfast at 9:20. After that, he wanted to kick me out of the area and he pushed me all the time to eat fast. I didn't fight with him because I am a very peacefully person and also he was a kind of poor old embittered guy.

My husband and inlaws visited this hotel from March 1 to 4, 2014. Upon arrival, we were told our hotel room had been cancelled and we did not have a reservation anymore. After travelling all the way from Canada, this was not the news we were expecting to hear right when we arrived. The hotel manager was the person we dealt with and he was extremely rude. He said our credit card had been declined because it was a Canadian card and "when you travel you should call the hotel to confirm your reservation."(it had more than enough to cover the room) and that our reservation had been cancelled. This was a strange comment to me because I am a pretty frequent traveler and have never had an issue with booking a hotel online/getting a confirmation email saying my room is reserved/confirmed. He explained (very rudely) that he had contacted the customer service for Comfort Inn that morning and told them. We asked why we were not called and asked for another form of payment and his response was "You have a Canadian number, no one is going to want to call long distance to tell you." This was strange to me because I believe Comfort Inn has many hotels all around the world so you would think they would have a great long distance plan :). After 10 minutes of arguing with him about getting a room, he informed us, "You are lucky I am in a good mood today and will still give you your reservation since all the other hotels in this area will be booked." I couldn't believe it. If this was his intention, he could have simply asked us right away for another form of payment and given us the room to make this whole process easier. Throughout the conversation, he threatened to charge us more for the room then we originally had booked. After this long and pointless argument, we went up to our room which was completely renovated but had a very musty smell to it. My socks actually became wet from walking on the carpet. It is a good location for the Walk of Fame and Hollywood Boulevard but due to the horrendous service and smell, I would never stay here again or recommend this hotel.

I stayed at this hotel for three nights to visit Los Angeles with some friends.

The hotel is very close to the walk of fame and to the attractions of Hollywood but during the night there were some strange people and some homeless along the way between the walk of fame and the hotel. It was dangerous so I would recommend paying attention and not walking alone when it gets dark.

The room for four was really small but acceptably clean.
The breakfast room was too small so it was always crowded and there were lines both to get the food and to sit down.

The service was horrible: the day before our departure an employee told us that they could store our luggage so we organized our plan considering to leave our luggage at the hotel for the day. But the day of our check out another staff member refused to keep our suitcases and reacted very angrily and aggressively to our complaints about the inconsistencies between their behaviors. As this man was not reasonable at all to our claims and questions, we finally had to get to Union Center ( 30 minutes by metro) and pay for the luggage storage here.

Moreover, every day they kept giving us the wrong number of towels and they were not willing to give us more towels when we asked for them.

We were vacationing in Hollywood mostly for sight seeing, and this hotel was perfect for our trip! You could not beat the location and price. It was an easy, short walk to the walk of fame, and only a couple of miles from Paramount Pictures. It was also only a $17 cab ride to Universal Studios. We had a good experience with the front desk staff. Checking in and out was quick, and they called us a cab when asked without hesitation. The bed was very comfortable, and the TV was really nice and we really loved the large choice of channels. The air conditioner in the room worked well. The breakfast was alright, standard for a free breakfast, and there's a Starbucks right next door if you would prefer that. The view out of the window wasn't a good one, but the room had nice shutters to block it and the sun out. Only complaints are that there were some holes in the wall in the bathroom (not a big deal), and we had to slam the door to make sure it latched shut. All in all, it was a great choice for what type of vacation we had, and we would stay there again.

Room Tip: We stayed on the second floor in the middle and it was quiet.

Location to walk of fame is excellent for the price. Breakfast typical for the chain. Service was good. Room had everything needed. Keep your expectations in check. Car stalls are tight. Old hotel (has character). Our room was clean. Ask for top floor.

Stayed here for 4 nights near the end of January. Booked this based on its location and price so was really not expecting much from the hotel. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the door to my room. We were on the second floor. Yes you can sometimes hear the people above you, and you can certainly hear people outside of your room if they walked by and were talking, but it did not bother us at all. The room was very clean, extremely comfy bed, huge walk in closet, and bathroom had great water pressure in the shower. The wifi worked perfectly and surprisingly was very fast. We struggled to get the TV to work, but we were hardly in the room to be watching it so it didn't matter to us. The morning breakfast was great, cereal, waffles, eggs, sausage etc.. Only real complaint was not a lot of seating in the breakfast area. We chose to bring our food up to our room to eat, to which one of the front desk staff made a comment to my fiance one morning about how we shouldn't be bringing the food upstairs as it brings bugs into the rooms. to which we replied as soon as we are finished eating we throw the garbage in the garbage can outside of the room. he was very rude! Again the location is fantastic. A short 10 minute walk down N.La Brea you will find a shopping mall with a huge Target (in case you forget anything) and of course you are only a short 5 minute walk from the Hollywood walk of fame. Couldn't have gotten a better location. Our trip this time was short, but I plan on staying here in April when I return to LA.

Room Tip: If you are worried about noise get a room on the top floor.
