“Family Spring Break Trip”
Reviewed 20 April 2014

Room 302-A Door had 1/2” gap at bottom. Tub Faucet Plating was loose, allowing a Bug to come through and scare my daughter. Tub drained slowly. Beds were Comfortable. TV signal was weak at first until I jiggled wires to box. Breakfast was adequate, i.e., Waffles, pancakes, Sausages, hard-boiled eggs, Orange and Apple Juice, Coffee,Bagels, Asst Muffins, Fruits, Cold cereals Security: Appreciated the need for Room Key-Card to reach upper floors. Great Location for quick Fwy access to Nokia Center, Fashion District and Griffith Observatory/Hollywood.

Everything was great!! The location, the helpfulness of the staff they are exceptional!!! Devon was managing the front desk and he was very helpful as well as resourceful. He recommended a taxi driver and it was a great experience!!! The guy showed up in a LIMO talk about VIP experience. It was one of the few BW I had stayed at that you are the important person. the breakfast was also a variety not just continental. Very good assortment.

Stayed at Best Western Dragon Gate while attending a Dodger game. Very convient to walk from hotel to stadium, if you don't mind walking up hill...no parking hassle, no dealing with traffic. Hotel was nice, clean, comfortable. Rooms are a little dated, but decorated nicely to fit in to the china town theme. Continental Breakfast had more options than others and was hosted by staff who were very nice and friendly.

Upon calling the hotel to inquire as to the linens and bedding prior to arrival, Dana, who answered was extremely incompetent and was very rude. In the middle of our conversation when she didn't know specifications about the linens, she cut me off and just ended it with "Well, we'll see you later." Upon mentioning this to the front desk, the man said he "does that sometimes too." I don't understand why these guest service agents would blatantly affirm that they cut off a guest in a conversation. I chose this hotel specifically because its website stated it was "a short drive from Staples Center," and that downtown was a few "steps" away. This hotel is actually in Chinatown and not at all close to Staples Center. The hotel looks like a motel. I don't understand why this hotel got the Plus attached to it. Most of the amenities claimed on the website are actually little shops on the first floor that are not really affiliated with Best Western. The hotel aestetically looks more like a motel and its parking situation is very inefficient. The only real help was the valet man during the night shift and the man at check-in was somewhat helpful. When trying to ask a housekeeper a question, she said she simply didn't know and walked away. Overall, the customer service was very bad. They all need to watch the I-CARE videos once again, and take notes. They need to re-plaster the bathroom. The room I stayed in, 324, must have had a hole by the sink, and instead of fixing it, they just put a tile over it. It looks very displeasing to the eye. The only area that was true to the website was the bed area with a red wall and nice bedding; other than that, I would not say this hotel should be deemed a Best Western Plus hotel but more like Dragon Gate Inn with a Best Western logo on it. This stay was over-priced; I would say you could get a much better hotel with better quality for the same price.

Room Tip: It needs signs posted to tell guests they need to check in with the front desk before pulling up to...

Great value and excellent location. In China town. Some tourist shop open very late. Many restaurants around this hotel. Be aware, you need to pay $10 for parking your car overnight in the hotel garage.

Best Western Dragon Gate Inn was a life saver for my family. A family member was transported to Kemp Hospital at USC for emergency surgery and this location was so wonderful in accommodating us at the last minute. They were kind at check in and at departure. The room was clean, large and comfortable. I would recommend the Best Western Dragon Gate Inn without hesitation.
