I recently stayed in the Lux hotel in LA on business and it was a treat .. The check in staff were super friendly and this was followed up by the waiters in the restaurant and the bell staff .. Well done boys and girls .. Great job
The hotel has recently had a face lift and they have done a great job . It was great value for money and in a very convenient location .. Could not be more happy with my choice .

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. We were not really impressed with the hotel itself. It is a small hotel, if compared to nearby hotels, there is no tub in the bathroom, the rooms are small for a family and it is extremely noisy, specially on Friday. They charge $40 dollars for parking. The staff is polite and friendly. Although the location can be a con, because of the noise, there are also its perks. It is right across from LA Live, which means you will have options for eating out at a walking distance. For brearfast, make sure you go to The Pantry, two blocks away, it is the best place for breakfast. You are also a walking distance from grocery stores and shopping. We were not impressed with the hotel, we thought it was expensive, but we don't totally regret staying there.

I bought my mum a ticket to the George Strait concert at the Staples Center in Feb-14 and booked this hotel because it was the closest to where the concert was being held.

Being two females travelling alone in LA I was concerned for safety, but soon after we arrived, I realised we had nothing to worry about - this is a fairly safe area, despite the number of pan-handlers and homeless people who can be a bit scary at times.

On the night of the concert I was worried about walking alone at night....but again there was no need to worry as there were thousands of people walking around the vicinity and a huge police presence which made me feel very safe and secure.

Re the hotel - it was clean, stylish, and the staff are simply amazing. It was refreshing to experience such great customer service after having stayed at TI in Las Vegas and receiving the worst service of our life! Everyone at the Luxe City Center went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

The rooms were nice and clean, loved the bathroom and the amenities. The only thing that I think could be improved are the prices of the soft drinks/ soda in the minibar - $3 for a coke is a bit exorbitant.

The hotel is located near a metro line (red line i think, the one that will take you directly to Hollywood and Highland), which is a bonus. This line will also take you to Universal Studios, so no need to waste money on a tour bus when you can pay a small amount and experience the LA metro system which i found to be safe and reliable.

Overall this was a pleasant place to stay and very convenient if you have to go to the Staples Center or Nokia Theatre.

Room Tip: After reading other reviews on Tripadvisor prior to booking, I asked for a room that was't facin...

This hotel is excelent, Considering the local and price is very interesting. It is located downtown and placed near to almost attractions on L. A.
People are nice. Just the breakfast is very expensive. Daily we went to Starbucks just across the street.

Me and my wife rented a room for one night so we could spend the day downtown around la live, the Luxe was an excellent location since it was right across the street and within walking distance from everything. We did not even have to drive our car. The hotel and room was very nice and clean, the check-in and out was fast and the front desk staff was very nice and helpful. I definately recommend the Luxe to anyone looking for a hotel stay in downtown LA.

Luxe was smack bang in the middle of the sports district in LA which meant finding and accessing tix to the hockey, basketball or any one of heaps of live music events was so easy I almost fell over players and musicians!! The hotel itself is a great boutique feel, more than adequate rooms and excellent bar/restaurant. I'll stay here again next time lay over in LA!!

We stayed here for two nights and loved it! I have two girls that had a three day volleyball tournament at the convention center. The location was perfect, we were able to walk to the tournaments, la live has a ton of restuarants to choose from, basically we did not have to drive around to look for a place to eat. Great Location! The luxe and staff are outstanding! Everyone knew what they were doing and they were very helpful and accommodating...we got to check in early Friday morning and late check out on Sunday. This was a huge help! Everything we needed, was fulfilled with happy smiles, including a fridge and microwave, since we had a few items the girls needed for their tournament. The hotel is quaint, beautifully furnished and maintained, clean and comfortable. We will not have to stay anywhere else when we have another trip to LA! We will recommend this hotel with our volleyball club. For those that complained about the noise...I think they forgot that this is all part of the city scene and life! Thank you luxe city center for a memorable stay and keep up the great work!

Room Tip: Get the city view (street side), fun to see the hustle and bustle of the city!
