Have stayed here off and on for over 35 years and consistentaly a fine 4 star
hotel experience. Look online for the best deals and especially a site that does
not beforehand reveal the hotel name - only 4 star with very favorable rank.
The pricey parking is the only drawback. Park one block south on Flower St.
for less than half or a Pershing Square Garage and walk or taxi over for well
under half what they charge. Get cheap drinks and half price bar food at the
Brewery on the 4th Floor here for big savings and cheap food and drinks at happy
hour. You can walk to everything in downtown LA or cheap taxi rides.

Room Tip: Ask for as high as you can get - splendid views.

As a Platinum SPG member, I stay at lots of Westin hotels. This was better than average. Downtown location, large hotel, big lobby with a "lake". Upgraded to a suite.
Breakfast buffet was excellent as was the service generally.

Valet parking is required, and $50 is simply ridiculous. Will park across street in garage next time.

I will stay at this hotel again for $229.

The Westin Bonaventure's claim to fame, in my opinion, are having cameo shots in a string of terribly terrible action movies (True Lies, Die Hard, Need I say More?) and an acrophobic's nightmare - their deathtrap tubed elevators. Once you get over these points and the heart attack that is the overnight parking fee ($48), it is a pretty neat experience.

LA Prime serves good food with a spectacular view of DTLA's skyline and the Bona Vista's rotating lounge gives you a 360 degree view of the city if you can muster through an hour without vomiting. Standard room was small but clean and comfortable as well. Overall, it is worth the venture.

Thank you for your review and your nice comments regarding our famous elevators. While we do film many action movies here, we have also filmed movies such as Forget Paris, Rainman and other less action oriented pictures. Next time you visit check out about 20 of the movie posters of films featuring The Westin Bonaventure. Thanks again for your review!

I'm a fan of the Westin brand, as its hotels are clean, well furnished, and customer service is always on point. This hotel is no exception and is the best option for business stays in DTLA. The hotel exterior is a bit dated, but the restaurants and common areas have been renovated nicely. Likewise, the guest rooms are clean and well appointed with typical Westin finishes.

On this stay, I arrived at the hotel at 9am--well before check-in time--and asked to store my luggage. However, the desk staff instead found a room for me and let me check-in several hours early. Little things like that make me loyal to the brand.

I am a fan of Westin properties and this one is great. It's design and layout is unique and interesting. It has a lot of features like the lobby bar, great views, and being close to LA Live that make this a good choice The rooms are clean and newer fixtures. The elevator ride provides for a unique experience
