But it wasn't their best room. Granted we got a cheap rate through priceline (with tax for a Saturday night was right under $100) and that's about the most I would have paid. Parking is 25 per night and includes in/out privliges. The lobby is nice, but very lacking in ameneties for travelers. The lobby bar serves Starbucks, but the menu is very limited, there are six levels of shopping, but there were no brand name or recognizeable stores...mostly six levels of gift shops, or luggage stores. One level is fast food type shops, look to be all locally run (no franchises). The new workout room is nice and spacious. The room that we were in was directly next to the elevator in the blue tower, so when we had the lights on, you could see directly in. It was very quiet however, considering we were literally right next to it. Room was very small, with double beds (not exactly comfortable for three people who are all almost 6 feet tall. I did try to use my Starwood Preferred Guest card at check in for a room on the 26th level but was declined. The tip I had read on here may only work on a weekday or during a slow season. We made one visit to the Bonaventure Lounge on the 35th floor. It is a revolving lounge, it is very slow moving and subtle, but offers some beautiful downtown views. It is a large convention hotel, however outside of larger lines for food/beverages, it didn't feel as crowded as I'm sure it was. Valet parking was prompt and friendly.
I would go back for the central location and proximity to everything.

Booked a night at the Bonaventure so that we could be rested to see King Tut the next morning. It is a beautiful hotel that everyone has always raved about.

We requested and got a room w/ 2 beds. These beds were much smaller than a normal "double" bed. I had to sleep w/ one child and my wife with the other because of the size of the mattresses. It would have been almost impossible for 2 adults to fit side by side on these beds.

If you book there, make sure you confirm the size of the bed before you pay!

I stay here every time I travel to LA. The rooms all have great views, with floor-to-ceiling windows. The suites are fabulous. They're actually the size of two rooms side-by-side. You enter into the living area side, which has its own, very large, marbled powder room. The living area has a desk, wet bar and fridge, sofa, chair, coffee table, and entertainment center with TV. The bedroom side is separated by heavy, sliding louvered doors. In the King suite, the bed faces the floor-to-ceiling windows. The bedroom side also has its own entertainment center with TV and a nice table and chairs. There is a hallway behind the sleeping area that leads to a large, marbled bath. Of course, the bed is heavenly. Yes, parking is $25 per night, but it is convenient. Valet service is extremely fast. The valet attendants and front desk staff are always friendly. I'd highly recommend this hotel to any business or leisure traveler.

Stayed in June on the 22nd floor. The room had a froor to ceiling windows with THE view and heavenly bed.
We've been on the trip to US and stayed in NY, LA and SF. This was teh best hotel. We were so sorry to leave so we changed our plans and stayed for 1 more day there.
The hotel itself is a giant architechtural landmark that could take you half a day to explore, with beautiful lobby/hall which is like 6 floors high.
Breakfast is not included but for the 17$ we had the best buffet from all the US and their surroundings.
The only minus is that hotel is in downtown so there is pretty much no shops open durinng weekend. As for the entertainment there are lots of restaurants as in the hotel (it's huge) so around it. Walking is pretty safe in the evening contrary to what we heard.
Anyway when we seen what Hollywood and Sunset boulevards are (pretty much dirty mexican streets with stars on the pavement) we were so happy to stay in the downtown.
Parking is expensive, but there is a 5$/night parking just in 1 block from there.

The price was right, free parking, great bed.

However, the carpet was stained, the wallpaper was stained, the room was very small and the closet was miniscule.

Other than that...

Would I stay there again, probably not. I would stay at the Marriott across the street.

I mainly chose this hotel because of free parking and the Westin reputation. However, this hotel was originally not a Westin, but the Bonaventure, and that may be the difference.

This is the first time I have been disappointed in a Westin property.
