I was in town for a convention/meeting. I am regular Starwood visitor. Let's start with the really good--the front desk staff was friendly and efficient. I needed to change my reservation, and Soren handled it with ease despite a computer glitch. Thanks for the upgrade too!
The lobby is circular and you do feel like you are walking in "circles." The lobby also felt a bit confining despite the really high ceilings. Finding the correct elevator was confusing, and I later learned it does not matter what lift one takes.
The room was fine. It was not particularly spacious and it felt a bit "tired" maybe because it was hotel redo versus new hotel. The bathroom was a shower curtain and not a glass door. Internet was decent.
Last, breakfast was great. It took a bit of time to get a server, but once he arrived he did everything really well. The buffet had fresh fruit, smoked salmon, a variety of meets, some Japanese options, and fresh baked items. Our server brought eggs to order too. Hot, fresh and well stocked.
If you need to be downtown, this hotel works but it nothing special. I would stay here for work again if the rate was competitive, but I would choose elsewhere if it was weekend away stay. Also, you can walk to the Staple Center.More
