“Nice hotel, great location, bad shuttle!”

Takes forever to get the shuttle to and from the hotel (airport). Bid downer - but its the same for almost all airport hotels with the shared service. (Hotels should get together and protest the airport's - LAWA - requirement to participate in the shared shuttle service.)

Hotel is nice. Old building but nice rooms. Like the Concierge lounge. Nice snacks. Evening snacks have been downgraded or so it seems in the last year or so - but still ok. Nice big refrigerator stocked with water and sodas - plus peanuts and M&Ms available all day!

Gym is big - with a big assortment of equipment. Sometimes a wait for eliptical or treadmill at peak time - but not often. They recently moved some stuff around and put more equipment in there. Although they took away the eycalyptus (sp?) scented towels! I miss them.

Location is good. Hotel bar has a nice selection of salads and sandwiches. Walk to In and Out Burger if you have time. Or take the shuttle to Manhattan Beach ($$). Rock N Fish is awesome as is Mama D's.

Attended a few meetings at the Marriott over the years. Great ballrooms in the basement. Only issue is no cell phone reception. Sometimes a blessing, sometimes a curse.

Elite check in desk in the lobby in the evening is a nice touch. As is the email a day or two before advising you of the service.

Anyway - highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed here twice about a week apart to bookend a trip. First time came by foot from the airport, checked in, room was nice and clean, though it was a disabled access room which meant a little tiny sink with no counter top in the bathroom. Made getting ready the next morning more complicated.

Second trip was late night arrival so I opted for the shuttle. Took more than a half hour to show. Every other hotel I have ever stayed at at LAX passed by at least twice before Marriott showed. When I got to the checkin line, there were literally 17 people standing in it. Mariott needs to get their act together with on line checkin and check out. Got to my room eventually, which was smallish, but nice and clean. Tried for 20 minutes to order late night room service, but no one ever answered the phone. Went down to the sports bar and had good service and good food. Checked out, walked out front, no shuttle visible, walked to the airport, no shuttle passed me on the way, wonder how long they had to wait?

Not a bad stay, but I'll most likely stay elsewhere next time.

I don't often stay in large hotels, especially if they are part of a big chain, but we had an early flight out of Los Angeles and I wanted the convenience of a hotel near the airport with complimentry shuttle service. We opted for the Concierge package which gave us access to an area in the hotel with complimentary wifi, beverages, breakfast, snacks, appetizers and desserts. This was very handy since we were not in the mood to go out to dinner and needed lots of internet time.

Our room was spacious and the bed was fabulous. Even the pillows were an incredibly light down that had us drifting off to sleep like we were in our own bed.My only pet peeve is that if we wanted to use our computers in the room we would have had to pay an additional daily rate.
In this day and age free wifi should be a must for all guests. Wifi is as necessary as hot water for a shower. The hotel wouldn't think of charging extra because you took a shower. Why would they charge extra because you used your computer in your room?

I was amazed at the friendliness and helpfulness of the entire staff. While they are probably greeting hundreds of guests per week, they made us feel special and they really looked after us. The outside valet was very helpful, the check in went smoothly, the bell boy was anxious to please, even the shuttle driver was friendly. We will be back!

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room, as they are a generous size.

This hotel is exactly what it you'd expect: an adequate airport hotel that does te basics fine. Nothing special, nothing too bad either. Pretty good value and easy access from LAX. One negative and one positive: Aircon in the rooms is very loud, but the rooms are nice and large.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the lifts, which are noisy.

We arrived at the hotel at 12 pm Our room was ready and available for check-in which was really nice since the actual check in time was 3 pm. Upon check in we requested extra towels and pillows. We were barely in the door of our room when these arrived. What outstanding service! The lobby had available Wi Fy however there was a charge if you chose to use it in your room. There were also airline connected computers in the lobby for early check-in and boarding passes for flights. This really made it quick and easy to access the boarding passes and check-in luggage. I was kind of bummed that the Starbucks closed at 7 pm but I don't need those calories anyway. The pool area was lovely gave you that tropical resort kind of feel. The pool was very warm and quite pleasant to swim in. Best of all even though you are right on the flight path for the airport you couldn't really hear the planes inside the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay. We parked for the whole of our trip here as well. However don"t make the parking reservation with the hotel use on of the parking lot web sites to book it. Hoel charge is $28.00 per day web site charge is $12.00 go figure!

Nicely appointed Marriott near LAX - seems to be in a safe neighborhood and rooms are very quiet despite proximity to the airport. We booked a night stay between two long haul flights and were not sorry - the hotel provided a pleasant and relaxing break. We had a very nice room with a balcony overlooking the beautiful pool area. The hotel restaurant and Starbucks were convenient and pricing was not as outrageous as it could have been... There is also a nice gift shop if you need toiletries, gifts or emergency clothing - T's flip flops, hats, swimwear. The staff was very accomodating - offered a late check out and allowed us to leave our luggage for the day so that we could spend the day sightseeing prior to our late night flight. The shuttles inbound and outbound were prompt and the driver courteous and helpful.

The Marriott was a good choice for our stop over before a long haul flight. The rooms are good, the in hotel restaurants OK, and the pool was really big (perfect for ensuring the kids burned off some energy before being strapped into a plane for 16 hours). The only challenges was that we'd booked a room for 5, and when we arrived both 5 bed rooms had been given away. Apparently LA fire regulations insist that a 4 bed room not have an additional bed in them (fair enough) but the front desk lady put 5 of us in a 4 bed room, and the staff couldn't cope after that. We eventually negotiated an acceptable outcome, but I had to do most of the thinking; if you've got a family in tow, double check the booking ahead of time!
