Me and my fiance stayed here for four nights. We have only just checked out and are sitting at the food and drink workshop 'Warrens' awaiting your transfer and i am writing our review now. The room was immaculate and was cleaned every day to a first arrived standard. The bathroom was excellent with a very powerful shower and the dryer on the wall very convenient. The beds are to die for!! Slept excellent. The room service was fast clean and well priced due to great quality food. The staff could not do enough for us and we're great advice and the free shuttle to universal every hour and the Wi Fi as standard and the air con as standard all the cherry on the pie for us. The location is excellent to get to universal the red line metro and Hollywood strip. The reception staff in particular the lady Kylie was very friendly on check in and check out and even helped us out for our next leg of our trip to marry in vegas. The renovations happening did not affect us people are exaggerating that. We only heard extremely slight noise finishing by five and the room we had was on the freeway but we had heard from reviews prior that it may be very noisy, come on it was nothing. This place is great and we will be back. Thanks so much Beverley garland.

We had a situation where housekeeping missed "cleaning" the room and left a "thing" behind from someone's party night. We were upset, but management took care of it ASAP. We got move to a different room (upgrade) and felt like we were cared for.
Thank you Shawn and others who were sensitive to this "situation". For doing the right thing 5 stars and a great review. Older hotel but kept well. Travelzoo deal check it out while it last. We will be back when we visit universal studios
Thanks for caring

Stayed for four nights in March. Front desk was very helpful and were gracious enough to check us in early post our 15hr flights from Australia. Rooms were nice and clean and the overall facility was kept in excellent condition. The bed was average in terms of comfort but after a long day out was still comfy enough to relax. We ate at the restaurant there and had the best Churros I have ever had!! If your looking for good places to eat Universal City is only about a 15min walk away and has a great variety of places to eat as well as a bar and bowling alley/cinema.

My wife and I were in town to do some star gazing (Griffith Observatory) and just walk around Hollywood a bit. We arrived at check in and although the requested room wasn't ready the girls at the reception desk were fantastic. We were offered another room that was ready or if we waited we could have had an upgraded room at no additional charge.

The room was clean, showers were hot and the bed was very comfy. Although we didn't spend too much time in the room or at the hotel we did walk around the grounds and the pool area is beautiful.

Overall a good experience and I would recommend for couples looking for a nice easy stay located near all the universal/Hollywood stuff.

Some construction going on but if you don't fix things people complain.......so they will also complain while you fix things.....but I wont ;)

We stayed in room 462 in Petola tower I think. I think this tower is still undergoing renovations. After a hectic few days in Vegas (visiting from Australia), we were so happy when we arrived at this hotel. As opposed to our stay in Vegas everyone working here was so friendly, the room was nice and cozy even though it hasn't been worked on yet, Receptionist and concierge were so lovely when we first arrived. Excellent buffet brekky at the restaurant too. Grounds/gardens are beautiful. Last day of our stay the restaurant next door was having a Block party with lots of different wines/beers and food to try and music....was an awesome way to end our stay in LA. Definitely would stay here again

Having booked this hotel from the UK due to its proximity to Universal Studios, we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived after our flight from the UK.The receptionist was extremely welcoming and helpful, explaining that the hotel was undergoing refurbishment. Due to having a 2yo, offered to upgrade us to a larger and quieter room. The free shuttle bus to the Studios was also a very nice surprise. Food at the attached restaurant, Warrens Blackboard was also very good. All round good access onto Freeway and Highway and not too far from Holywood either!

The hotel itself is nice. Unfortunately our stay wasn't. We desperately needed a fridge & a microwave or at least a kettle for baby food but there were no facilities in our room whatsoever. The hotel would not 'guarantee' our room would be ready prior to arrival when we requested an early check in (even though they weren't fully booked), so given we were traveling internationally & needed to get to the hotel ASAP after a 12 hour flight, it was recommended we pay for the night before our arrival. Unsure if it was a hotel issue or travel agent issue but we paid $770 for 2 nights.... Not worth $385 per night! Not practical for families. Would best suit a business traveller who doesn't mind paying for breakfast, lunch & dinner for the duration of their stay. We paid $48.00 room service for 2 plates of scrabbled eggs, bacon & hash brown plus 2 small glasses of orange juice & a chocolate milk. $19 parking per night was expensive. Terrible value for money.

Thank you for taking the time to give us great feedback. I apologize for the inconveniences you ran into throughout your stay. I would like to inform you that we will soon be providing refrigerators and safes in all of the guest rooms once our renovation is complete this summer. We do our best to accommodate any early check-in requests but it can be difficult which is why we cannot guarantee them. I really appreciate all of your feedback – it helps us grow and improve our hotel. Safe travels!
