Great location and clean rooms with a nice pool. What more can you ask for? Free shuttles to Universal, lush property, and walking distance to a lot of boutiques and restaurants. The staff was friendly and everything was very nice. Bring the family.

We stayed here because the location was centrally located for everything we wanted to do and see while vacationing here. The sad part is that this place is nothing like the pictures they have on their website. I don't know where those rooms are - but they weren't anywhere near the part of the hotel we were at. Even though our room(s) were very "tired" and dated - I will give them kudos for the cleanliness. The walls are paper-thin; we could hear an argument that was going on 2 doors down and across the hall! The people in the room next to us... we could hear them un-zip their suitcase (well, we're just assuming it was their suitcase). Also, the group of people that stayed up all night out on their little patio area - it sounded like they were partying right next to our bed. Maybe if we had a heads-up that we would be staying in an un-renovated room we could have made a better decision - they made it sound like "it's-all-good" when booking the rooms. It's hard to give good feedback about a hotel when you are sleep-deprived and disappointed. I guess the moral-of-the-story is: ask a bunch of questions about the room you are about to book!

Thank you for staying with us and taking the time to share your feedback. The hotel is under renovation and unfortunately as we have been making improvements to our guest rooms not all have been completed. I want to apologize that our website was not accurate with the guest room you stay in. We are working on the last floor of guest rooms, so we no longer have the older product available. Our current rooms are those of the images on our site. I want to once again apologize that the hotel did not meet your expectations. I hope you will give us a second chance.
Thank you.

Stayed here a few times due to my husband's work, and it really is a nice hotel. The service is good, there is laundry, and a pretty nice pool area. It is a bit dated, but in a way it is kind of charming, I wouldn't mind staying here again, it was clean and they have a really nicely priced room service menu! It was a good hotel to stay at while we needed to be in Studio City.

Me and my partner stayed here for 5 days and we'd wished we could have stayed for the whole of our trip to LA! Its a fantastic hotel, the decor modernisation is brilliant, very clean, very fresh and the rooms are lovely and bright. The surroundings of the hotel are also lovely. local to a supermarket, bars, coffee shops and clothing outlets. Pool side is lovely and relaxing with comfy beds and excellent facilities. The lobby area is lovely and spacious and the staff are always more than willing to help, assist and provide advice on anything you fire at them. The free shuttle service to Universal Studios is another plus point of the services the hotel offers. It was prompt in both dropping you off and picking you up. The hotel houses a brilliant little diner too which offers great breakfast food (this is all we used it for whilst there). The front desk staff are absolutly fantastic and their knowledge on things from the best methods of transport to tricks you can use in the parks is incredible and really helped us on our trip. The staff are very polite and very friendly and are always happy to help. We had a situation with a case and the engineer was straight up to help us. The many questions we aimed at the staff were always answered and they didnt palm us off with any general answers, they always made sure we'd got what we wanted. If it wasnt for Jose, we don't know what we would have done! I would recommednd Sportsmans Lodge to any of my freinds, family or otheriwse and hope to be returning very soon! Jess and Will, Manchester, UK.

Room Tip: 3rd Floor houses very large spcaious rooms with two Queen beds and towards the end of the corridoor...

Came here for a wedding party. The property is undergoing a remodel. The ground floor hallway and elevator of our building was dated and worn. We had newly remodeled rooms - in garish style from the 1950s. We were awoken the first night with loud sounds coming from the ac/heating unit (which was off). My wife thought there was an animal. It sounded like pop corn in a microwave to me. The next day the hotel front desk informed me that there was a known issue of sounds coming from the ac/heating units. They did graciously provided us with another room. That night at 10 o'clock we discovered that we could hear the TV from the adjacent room almost as if it was on in our room. The TV next door was not loud, the walls are just terribly thin. The manager came up and asked them too turn off their TV which they did.

On the plus side:
-Friendly, helpful staff.
-Comfortable three star bed.
-Very clean room.
-Nice pool.

On the down side:
-Paper thin walls
-Noisy ac/heating units that keep us up at night even when off - already known by staff.
-Small bathroom
-Parking is $14 a night.

Good front of house/reception area and pool, but room shabby and small bathroom. Breakfast facilities within hotel are ok and reasonably priced. Adequate parking available for extra cost. Air conditioning in too not too noisy.

Room Tip: Rooms on the outside of the hotel are quieter as not over looking disco pool area.

The hotel has been renovated since my last stay four years ago. The pool is very good. The rooms are clean and in good order. The hotel provides breakfast at a very good price. There are a useful supermarket and Starbucks across the road.
The hotel is convenient to Universal Studios.
A very good mid-priced option.
