“Great view”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 June 2012

My wife and I were visiting Universal Studios so the close location of this note to the park got us off to a good start. As with all Hilton's the hotel was clean, well furnished and the staff helpful. What makes this Hilton a bit better than your usual run of the mill 4 star hotel is the view. Perched on top of a hill overlooking north Los Angeles and the surrounding mountains many the view was extremely pleasant. The beds were also very comfy. Would go back.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that overlooks the valley not the 101 freeway.

Perfect location. Nice room. Comfortable beds. We were in LA for a convention. At night, no hassle of having to drive to go to dinner. Everything was within a 5 minutes walk. CITYWALK was amazing. Perfect food, clubs, bar.
Check in at hotel was so so, but , after that, everything went perfect. Would stay here again next time we visit the area.
We had a convention price so, i dont know what the regular room rate was. We paid $200/nghtps: Hotel is 2 sided. On one side you have a super view of mountain, city. On the other, you have a view of Universal. Both are great.

Close by to the parks. Extremely friendly and cheerful staff. Beautiful spacious, clean lobby, lobby bar and restaurant. We came in late from a east coast flight. The bar had good food. The corner room as very spacious. The bed comfortable. We ate at the vast breakfast Buffett every day. It was very good and enough to skip lunch! We used the valet for parking and never had to wait.

We stayed at the Hilton for our trip to Universal. It's ideally located so we could pop back and forth to Universal with our 2-day pass. The lobby is striking and has a great atmosphere. We had a corner room, which was spacious and had a great view of the hills. The staff were also very helpful and nice. The only minor downside was the buffet meal we opted for looked more appetizing than it actually was (there's an array of seafood), as many of the dishes didn't live up to the price. We were also charged for service when we were only bought a couple of drinks (being a buffet, we had to help ourselves to our own food). However, this is a great hotel if you plan on visiting Universal Studios.

After extending our trip to San Francisco by another day with no problem in changing our reservations, we arrived a little ahead of schedule and were accommodated with a room right away. We used the valet parking which was not that much more than the self park and was much cheaper than the San Francisco Hilton valet. The staff were all very professional and seemed very genuine. We received a great offer through the concierge for entrance to Universal Studios for two days for $80/ person which was a great savings and very convenient as it was across the street from the hotel and proved to be a very nice view. Our room was a large corner suite that we added a cot for our teenage daughter. We went out for a while that evening and came back to a welcoming fruit tray with trail mix and creme brule which my daughter enjoyed and was hard pressed to share with the rest of us. There was lots of storage for our belongings and a huge bathroom. We did have a couple of complaints, the first being that one of our neighbours decided to indulge marijuana that could be smelled throughout one whole wing of the floor. I did mention it to the front desk and they sent security to deal with it immediately which impressed me. The other thing that I mentioned as we were leaving was a maintenance issue, the bathtub in our suite had been resurfaced and was chipped around the drain and on the back ledge. It wasn't a huge deal, we just had showers instead of baths, and I'm sure now that they know, it will be fixed. The swimming pool area was very nice, our daughter enjoyed the pool, as we sat beside and relaxed in the cabanas, clean towels were provided on site and depending on what time of the day you were there, they had a snack bar.
The concierge(s) were knowledgeable and took care of all our requests, as well as the valet staff. We had supper one evening in the Sierra dining room, the food was really good as well as the service. Housekeeping did a fantastic job, not just our room, but the hallways, elevators and entrances alike. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

W stay at this hotel because of its location. It has the City Walk and Universal Studios within steps. So you have day life and night life without having to get in your car and drive. The hotel itself is very nice. It has a nice giftshop with the unique items that I like to buy because nobody else has one. The restaurant has good food although we usually only have 1 meal there because we like to go over to City Walk to people watch and eat there. The bar is great. Ezra, the bartender, is fabulous. He offers great service and great jokes. He knows how to keep the party going among a group of strangers. He is definitely a people person. The bar also has a menu of its own. Touristy downtown Hollywood is a very short drive. There is plenty to do when staying at this hotel.

Room Tip: They have rooms available for an additional charge that are worth the money. They are huge. I thin...
