“Generally I like Hiltons, but....”

I stayed here last month-- and was on the 11th floor sleeping when LA experienced a 4.5 earthquake. That was freaky! OMG! The building swayed and shook! Apparently the hotel was designed to withstand sizable earthquakes-- so-- good new there! I have stayed at this hotel numerous times on trips to Woodland Hills, and basically, it's comfortable. But not really designed for the business traveller. One thing I just don't understand is why, when everyone has numerous tech devices to recharge, you have to move furniture and unplug the stupid clock-radio in order to get an available outlet. (The Anza hotel, recently remodeled, has a bunch of EASILY accessible outlets on both of the nightstands. COOL.) The lobby is standard fare also, not a warm and enticing place to hang out. (The Anza, on the other hand, transformed their lobby into a cool hang out spot with a variety of seating opportunities with tables, and a Starbucks-style cafe-- where you can get a good espresso drink, good pastries, etc.). So-- bottom line-- a comfortable hotel, nothing special however, and could be significantly upgraded to make life better for business travellers.

Our baseball team stayed here over the weekend and Courtney, Kevan and Oscar opened the dining room JUST FOR OUR TEAM to eat dinner!!! We had a party of 30 and they served us on a Saturday night just like a private party. We didn't have to drive anywhere or worry about the boys being too loud or disruptive to other guests. Afterwards, they opened a small area for the boys to hang out until bed time. Courtney L. really took care of us!

I was very shocked at the room decor as well as the lack of cleanliness of the room. Wallpaper was peeling, hair on the bathroom floor and around toilet, stains on the furniture and furnishing were very dated and need of replacement.

Stay for a couple of days in a suite. Room was clean so was the lobby. Staff promised an extra bedding / mattress on reservation but staff refused and deflected the request everytime. Didnt get back, I had to call everytime. Housekeeping didnt provide clean towels, sheets. Got in-room service for breakfast, food was good but orange juice smelled and tasted bad.

Got in at midnight and was able to check right in and go to my room. Only issue was there was not snack bar or small market to get something to eat. I had been traveling the whole day and they only had vending machines on the 3rd floor. the restaurant was closed.

Shabby, down-at-heels property. In need of a major rooms and hallways upgrade, which is at least 3 year overdue.

The lobby area raises your hopes, only to be dashed when you enter the rooms. Beige is the overall theme; 1990's beach. Stained orange carpet, massive cabinets, with stains, cigarette burns and generally worn out furnishings. This is one of those properties that thinks that by installing flat screen TV's, it qualifies as an upgrade; obviously it doesn't.

Housekeeping is lacking; dust and dirt abound. Do not walk on the carpet or bathroom tiles in bare feet. White towels are threadbare and are dark gray, due to multiple washings.

Noise; old HVAC systems and doors that are impossible not to slam closed, contribute to the noise stress. Earplugs are a must.

Finally, Hilton has let their Front Desk associates down. A simple request for laundry facilities, a local famous restaurant, car rental were greeted with a trained smile, and a 'we can look on google' - Seriously ! Save your money and stay at the nearby Marriott - night and day compared to this property.

All was nice. I'd read a few disparging reviews but not only did they not seem applicable but the staff assured me they were made up. Quietest room I've had in a long time - nice, roomy, clean. I had morning room service as a special self treat - it was very pleasant and the best coffee served with it.
