“Good location for business”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 January 2009

Good business location. A $15-20 cab ride to the Standard and the Viper Room. A $5 cab to Rodeo drive. Minor street noise during rush hour as people like to honk at the nearby intersection. At nights, Beverly Hills get pretty quiet so you don't get any street noise after this. Free coffee 24/7, great breakfast (includes omelette bar), evening wine reception (5-7pm), parking is $22 per night (valet only but they are really quick), hot tub open past posted time, decent gym, free Wifi.

Overall, if you can get this place for less than $150, it's worth it, as it's a decent 3-star property.

We booked this hotel at $70 a nite via Priceline, the parking costs about $25 a day, no complain. Great location easy to find. The staff was friendly. The complementary hot breakfast was very good too, but the coffee was so-so. I highly recommend this hotel. The all suite design allows you to cook your own stuff in-room. The reason I said "near perfect" was because there was a guest made microwave popcorn at 4am and triggered the fire alarm, so everyone in the hotel woke up and wanna find out what's happening. That means their alarm system is functioning the way it's designed.

I stayed for four nights in this hotel during the two days before Christmas, plus Christmas Eve and Christmas Day -- in order to see friends and visit family in the area. First the merits of the place: Its location just a half mile from Century City along Pico, and at the southern edge of Beverly Hills, makes it easy to get into the Valley via Beverly Glen, or to jump down to the I-10 to go further afield. The rooms are as comfortable as in most Residence Inns (though they're smaller), and the valet parking system is fast and cheerful. Now for the drawbacks: (1) Most rooms face busy streets, and inner "courtyard" facing rooms on lower floors receive noise from HVAC equipment -- only courtyard-facing rooms on high floors are dependably quiet, and that's not many rooms; (2) The breakfast area and service in this Residence Inn is an unmitigated disaster: Horribly mediocre food that runs out if the hotel is near capacity, a tiny dining space for a hotel of this size, and service that has to be reminded to replace the coffee when it's run out. Also, while the reception staff and valet parkers are pleasant, this hotel has a rather detached atmosphere. The only compelling reasons to stay in this hotel are the reasonable rates given its location, and the reasonably comfortable rooms if you get one that's quiet. But generally you will not want to be spending time in this building.

We stayed for a week due to an operation at Cedars Sinai. This hotel is convenient, the staff very helpful and attentive--lots of smiles. Breakfasts were excellent with some variation each day--including an omelet cook one day. Monday-Thursday there were evening snacks with wine/beer/sodas. Comfortable beds, kitchenetts well equiped for light meals. Guest laundry facilities also available. Good internet connections.

Nice discount for Cedars patients.

Only down side is daily cost for parking + valet tips. This is run under contract to another company that covers most if not all of Beverly Hills...but valet parking is the norm for this general area.

I've stayed at this hotel in the past mostly due to the location and proximity to where I'm doing business. However there are a few things to note. The front desk staff while they are friendly and accomodating do a quick 180 if a phone call comes in and then you're second in line, wihch is annoying. The rooms are OK, but can use some renovating. My room had some cosmetic issues, like broken tiles in the bath and kitchen. the One bedroom suite has the queen bed crammed into a very small space. In addition I had one of the interior rooms. While it is quiet, you get absolutely no sun or sky view at all. What you do get is an alley view and another room directly across from your window. Not much to write home about. The couch has had better days; the cushions were shot. The person or persons who designed this building with the rooms situated as mine is obviously didn't care about what guests would want or desire.

In addition note that valet parking is all this place has and at $22/night its kind of a ripoff. But there really is no other choice unless you want to try street parking and risk getting towed.

As said earlier the rooms could use a renovation. In addition the A/C is very loud as is the refridgerator. Both seem to be on constantly. Not very environmentally friendly.

The hotel maids are anything but quiet during the day. One afternoon I was working in the room and all I could hear was one mail screaming something in Spanish to another. What about the people who are sleeping during the day? I bet those maids wouldn't appreciate someone yelling outside their door while they are sleeping or working, no?

One more complaint and then I'll stop. The hot and cold water do not mix well when taking a shower. Its either scalding hot or cold, no inbetween. I'm not sure what thats all about, but at $233/night it would be nice to get something inbetween, no?

Thats all. I'll end with this is probably the last time I'll stay here. Its time to find a hotel in Beverly Hills that actally lives up to the Beverly Hills name!

This is a case of choosing the hotel more for it's location than for being the best place to stay for the price.

That said, I can't find much to fault the hotel with for my stay. The room was very clean, the bed comfortable, the kitchenette a welcome place to throw some things in the refrigerator, the LCD tv a nice touch and the free wi-fi useful. Breakfast was serviceable in that free-hotel sort of way, even despite summer vacation kids always fighting to make their own waffles. The valet crew deserves a tip of the hat for being friendly and efficient.

Contrary to what some reviews here will tell you, the Queen room is actually quite large for a hotel room. The problem is that it's really poorly designed. Most of the space is eaten up by the large kitchen/living room area, leaving the bed to be shoved in a super tight space closer to the bathroom.

For a road warrior travelling alone, no sweat. If there's more than one person staying in the room, I could see the bed placement being a real issue, especially, say, when someone might need to stumble to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

All in all, this is a clean, basic hotel with great service. I wouldn't really mind staying here again. There are however much better options for the same price nearby. Later in the week I had to extend my stay in the city, but the Residence Inn was fully booked, so I switched hotels and ended up paying the exact same price for a much better hotel.

  • Liked — Great service, spotless accommodation.
  • Disliked — Such a large room... why shove the bed into such a tight space?

We recently stayed at the Residence Inn in Beverly Hills. The staff was very nice and friendly. We stayed in a one bedroom queen suite. The bedroom has barely enough room to walk in. You couldn't open the closet and the bathroom door at the same time. The room was clean and quiet. Except for the size of the room and complete lack of view of anything but another wall, it was up to Marriott standards. The location is good for the price of the room.

  • Liked — The location, price, and friendly staff
  • Disliked — The small rooms
