We loved the Magic Castle! It is a really cute little boutique hotel with the most amazing staff I have ever encountered! Yes, I've stayed at the Four Seasons and in various hotels around LA and no staff comes close. We stayed on our anniversary and while I barely mentioned it as a special occasion they treated us like rock stars.

Among other things, we had to change our dinner reservation last minute because the restaurant was too far out of the way before our concert. They got us into the sushi restaurant up the hill, shuttled us up there, and even had a lovely complementary appetizer waiting to start us off.

The rooms were great (we had a suite) and the hotel was convenient to walk to the Lucky Strike for a cocktail later. The only thing I would change is the pool. It needs a little updating and is pretty small...real estate is tough to come by in LA.

I really can't say enough about the helpful, friendly, fun, & really on-top-of-it staff of professionals. They're the best.

we decided to pay a visit to los angeles and not knowing a single thing about it we decided that staying close to holywood walk of fame was important to us... after some researching we found the most perfect hotel possible. four minute walk and we were at the chinese theatre.!!!
breakfast included. even better. staff friendly and knowledable. yes that was full marks as well. so after relaxing in our rather large private room (which included chocolate on the pilllows) we enjoyed a hearty healthy breakfast by the pool before chatting with the excellent staff on what to do and how to get there. armed with our free map we were soon on the local subways...
i highly recommend this fantastic friendly hotel to anyone who is unsure about anything los angeles!!!!

We stayed at Magic Castle hotel in a 2 bed suite overlooking the pool for 4 nights. All the staff were super friendly, helpful and informative. The pool was great at 11pm at night after a hard day of sightseeing and the rooms spacious and clean. Great beds and toiletries. Just all round great!!

Our family of four stayed at the Magic Castle Hotel for two nights after a long flight from Sydney. The staff were extremely helpful in booking us a Hollywood tour at short notice and accomodated our every need throughout our stay. The room (a one bedroom unit) we stayed in was bright and clean, just next to the pool. The breakfast was plentiful and it was nice to be able to take your choices back to your room. The location of the hotel is great, we got the train easily to Universal studios (a great day). Be aware that Hollywood Bvld is pretty sleazy at night, and there are many homeless people living in the park across the road from the hotel.

The staff suggested Micalo's for dinner one night, a short walk from the hotel. This is a wonderful restaurant with singing waitors.

We booked this hotel due to the favourable reviews in Tripadvisor and were not disappointed.

Thank you very much for the 5 out 5 review. Just a small detail for the readers, the restaurant is actually called Miceli's. I'm so glad you enjoyed it....it's a hotel favorite!
I also wanted to acknowledge your comment on the park across the street. The city has done a great job of really cleaning up the area. It is true, like in any big city, you do get the occassional transient in the park. Families can book our hotel with confidence. Although sometimes the park will have someone who you may not invite to dinner, we've never had a security problem at our hotel stemming from anyone in the park.
We are a family friendly hotel.

The Magic Castle Hotel is fantastic. A bit dilapidated and our rooms had horrors like thorn curtains and windows facing a giant clima box and an even less attractive wall. HOWEVER it had a great and safe location right behind Hollywood Boulvard, the courtyard pool is heated which was a thrill as nights in LA are chilier now. The staff was so friendly warm and welcoming and did everything whatever we requested in a split second. The internet was complimentary so as the breakfast. They also have lovely spiced water and fruit in the hall for free. The Magic Castle show was awesome and it is itself worth the stay. Once we got over the state of the room we felt like home.

I thoroughly enjoyed the magic castle. The staff were so friendly. The accommodations are clean, a bit old. The location is prime for doing the typical tourist scene. When you enter the hotel there is a bowl of apples and cucumber water to quench your thirst. The continental breakfast was great, fresh croissants and scones every morning. I would definitely go back.

This hotel is a perfect combination of friendly staff and a great location. After a long flight we were welcomed like long lost friends with a drink in the foyer - fantastic!

The room was very spacious and comfortable although not luxurious. The breakfast in the morning was relaxed and plentiful. Again, everything being presented in a very friendly way.

With the Chinese Theatre and Walk of Fame literally 10 minutes walk away and Universal Studios barely 15 minutes drive, this hotel is very well situated if you only have a short time in LA.
