“Mastering the Lost Art of Customer Service”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

Good service is hard to find these days. If you're on the hunt and want to combine good service with good wine, food, and hospitality, set your GPS for 2860 Grand Ave in Los Olivos, CA...you'll find all four in one location. The staff is friendly, the attention to detail immaculate, and the accomodations off the charts. There are several tasting rooms within walking distance, two very reputable and tasty restaurants (including Petros right in the hotel), and a five and dime just down the road for your sundries and snacks. A special thank you to LaToya who took care of the reservation for my wife and I, and even upgraded our room to a suite at no additional cost as a coming home present from Afghanistan. I can't say enough good things about this Inn. Ultra comfortable beds, romantic fireplace in every room, friendly locals, and smog free air. As an extra treat, you get to stay in the quaint botique hotel owned and operated by the great Fess Parker, one of the finest human beings to ever live. Try it, you won't regret it.

This is the only decent hotel in Los olivos and the lack of competition shows. We had breakfast outside on a Saturday morning; the table was dirty and a used glass was on the floor beside us, our sever did not notice either...on Saturday night we got back from dinner at 10:30 looking forward to a nite cap with the family to find the bar closed. Unexpected and unacceptable when you are paying $700 a night!

While I wouldn't consider this a full service spa. It's a great "half day" spa! Love the little boutique associated with it and the resident cat that greets you too. I especially love the fact that while you are unwinding from services you can order your favorite drink from Petros while relaxing by the pool. If you are looking for a quick spa day this is a great set up. My all time favorite facial was here too.

Spent only one night in an upgraded room. Wished we could have stayed longer. Staff is very welcoming and go out of their way to remember your name and assist you in a variety of activities and suggestion of restaurants not only on properity but also throughout Santa Barbera. The hotel grounds are beautiful, lush garden, tennis courts, olympic size pool, and even a putting green. We rented bikes on properity and enjoyed the water front location. On site restaurant The Set has great food and drink selections where you can enjoy either outside by the fire or inside where Fess Parker aka Daniel Boone movies are shown. Great experiance and thank you Dave the bellhop and his staff for remembering our names and room by memory. A little pricey but well worth it. Great for couples or families.

Room Tip: Mountainview rooms face parking lot and train. Rooms in the main building are larger with outstandin...

When commuting from Southern to Northern California and back by car, we try to break up the return trip by spending a night along the route back home. This is our new place to stop. It's a beautiful property. Our suite was large, very comfortable and had plenty of amenities. The staff were all very friendly and professional. The hotel restaurant, Petros, was excellent and the service superb. Great wine list and well stocked bar. Other than walks and wine tasting, there's not much else to do in this town, which is one of the reasons we enjoyed it so much. Extremely peaceful. Next time, we'll make it a multiple night stay.

We live in Santa Barbara, and every few years we will take a weekend away from the kids and go to our "wine country". We have stayed at the Buellton Marriott, Hotel Corque (3 times), and now the Fess Parker. Hands down, we absolutely LOVED the Fess Parker. There really is no comparison to these other 2 hotels. I would compare this more to Bacara or The Canary in terms of high end style and quality. The Inn is just gorgeous: completely updated and perfectly styled to feel like a home you would want to live in. The room was very spacious, and we loved the fireplace in the corner. We were very comfortable relaxing before dinner. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed ending each night at the bar in the hotel - the staff was incredibly friendly (Robin was very fun to talk with). Each morning breakfast was complimentary in their restaurant, Petros (which is the same as the locations in Santa Barbara and Manhattan Beach). Such good, strong coffee and delicious Greek egg breakfasts - or you can order traditional breakfast if you want.

One thing to note, the Inn is in 2 buildings: directly across the street from each other (and by street I mean a 1 lane road that is easy to cross). So you could end up across the street from the restaurant and lobby. The pool part of the building across the street. Unfortunately, there in no hot tub. Anyway, we were in the main building which we were happy about.

We will definitely come back again! Loved every single thing about this hotel.

Room Tip: There are 2 buildings, I would request to be in the main building w/the lobby and restaurant.

Thank you so much for this fantastic review! It is nice to have a "local" perspective. The Parker family and the team here at Fess Parker have worked so hard to get the Inn where it is today and we appreciate your feedback.

We hope to see you back soon!

Stayed here for 3 nights for the first time. A very nice room (Luxury Vista Room) in the “annex” across the street from the main part of the Inn. Close to the only pool for the Inn. The pool area has bottled water and a Keurig for coffee and tea. Each day came with a free full breakfast from the Petros Restaurant. Fritattas, eggs benedict and traditional breakfast all very good. Walking distance to the entire town from here. Pretty much in the middle of the Santa Barbara wine tasting and about 5 miles north of Solvang. Professional and friendly staff. Our room did not have a refrigerator but they brought us one when we asked.

Room Tip: If you want to stay in the main part of the Inn be sure to request that. The Annex across the stree...
