“Throwback, Hip, and All Beach. Best Local Bar in South Bay”
Reviewed 9 August 2014

This is the kind of bar you search out and can never find anymore. Ercole's is a throwback bar in one of the hippest and trendiest towns in the world! The crowd is like clockwork: the older locals hang out for Happy Hour 3-6 then the 30-40 aged working crowd start showing up after work and finally at about 9 PM the bar turns into the trendy young beautiful people crowd. All three groups tend to mingle quite well and it just works itself into a loud happy vibrant beach crowd party.
Drinks good and stiff. Happy hour prices excellent for Manhattan Beach. Service awesome; bartenders and manager all locals with years of service. Food is simple but outstanding examples: 3 Tacos for $5 Taco Tuesdays and 2 for 1 Burgers on Wednesdays. Martin the main chef can cook up some mean tacos, dogs, and burgers.
Bar itself has a main bar, tables with benches and some booths, a few TVs, pool table, and music machine. Crowds big on Friday nights, weekends, and major beach events.
If you want the real Manhattan Beach, visit Ercole's. If you want fancy and pretentious go to The Strand House.

“great local's dive bar”
Reviewed 21 June 2014

if you wanna go to a real dive bat in the area, you shouldn't miss ercole's. grab a beer, keep an eye on your favorite team and, best of all, exercize the art of people-watching, because this bar is a favorite among the golden locals. highly recommended to relax and see the locals.

“Food outstanding! Bartender on afternoon of May 7, 2014 was miserable.”
Reviewed 7 May 2014

I have traveled far and wide. My first visit three weeks ago was filled with fun times, chatting with locals, great drinks and a super cheeseburger. This afternoon, the female bartender was curt, fresh, couldn't be bothered and just plain miserable. It ruined my lunch and trip believe it or not.

“A gem of a dive bar....”
Reviewed 14 October 2013

I love dive bars and this is a classic. ALL CASH! Important to know walking in, but the good thing is you won't need much.

Lot's of good beer selections, but the main stay is the famous Mai Tai. Nicely done and potent.

A very local place, so mingle and hear stories of volleyball and surf from years ago.

To eat, try it Wednesday night when it's 2 for 1 burger night. Martine whips up a mean 1/2 pound burger that will rival you have ever had!! Serious, this is one great burger. They laos have a 2 for 1 taco night (Tuesday?) and those are good as well.

I guess the reason I love this place is the history of it. You always hear a story and someone always buys you a beer (or vice versa) so its kinda of Cheers in Manhattan Beach. You gotta love that!

“Crowded old dive”
Reviewed 8 August 2013

This is a local joint where you go to watch a game and grab some cheap but good eats. Not trendy not fashionable this is a MB original where locals go to have fun and not spend a ton.
