“Family owned up scale Mexican”
Reviewed 21 October 2013

I love a good cheap burrito like anybody else but sometimes you want a nicer dinner with a nicer environment and better service. Las Casuelas fits the bill. On a very busy Sunday night, service was fine, water and beverages kept steadily refilled but we did have to ask for more chips, additional chips were not offered although the waitress kept stopping by.

The decor is really well done - stone work with Mexican style decor and folk art. There are some very impressive iron work mariachis mounted in the main lobby.

The quality of the meat is much higher than lower price competitors and the complimentary warm bean drip and (hot) salsa fresh and delicious. The restaurant is also spotlessly clean, which is a big plus for me.

I would definitely eat here again when passing through the area.

“Worst service in town.”
Reviewed 17 September 2013 via mobile

Your chip basket will go empty, your ice tea glass will go dry, and 3 waitresses will stand there look around and not take care of customers. You have to wave a flag to get another beer or more chips and salsa. Not the same since La Mornita. I miss that cabbage and salsa from back in the day.

“I don't like”
Reviewed 29 August 2013

not recommend it, the food is pretty bad so unique restaurant design and the most terrible thing is the attention of the owner thinks it's only restaurant in Manteca Ca and customers have to bear the bad attention but someday come a Texas restaurant will feel the precione

“Extraordinary Mexican Food”
Reviewed 22 July 2013

I thought I had seen every kind of Mexican food on so many restaurants but this place is way out of the ordinary. Highly recommended. Found at 1580 West Yosemite Ave in Manteca.

The restaurant is in a large stone building, very appealing. The barroom has its own tables for eating in a very generous room while other spacious rooms are well separated from the bar area. The service was prompt, the water glasses kept full, the food great, and staff was knowledgeable and courteous. The environment and decor was delightful. We loved it!
