The view from our suite was amazing! The staf was really helpful, when we arrivied we wanted to make sure we would catch the sunset from our room so they brought us a golf cart (which is a lot of fun by the way), gave us a map and let us go to our foom even though there were others waiting ahead of us. The bellman brought us ice minutes after we requested it. The bathroom was big and spotless, the only complaint we really had was the shower, it ran out of hot water pretty quickly. Aside from that we had no complaints. It was really windy but that is to be expected considering the time of year. If you do decide to stay at Marina Dunes make sure you ask for an upstairs room, the walls are pretty thin and you might hear people walking around if youre downstairs.

My husband and I stayed at Marina Dunes from 11/17-11/20/07. We found this resort to be all we hoped for. The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated. The fireplace was a nice romantic touch and supplied more than enough heat. We found the staff to all be pleasant and helpful. We were always greeted with a smile and the staff did all they could to do be helpful.

The golf carts you're given to drive on the property are novel, but really not needed other than to bring luggage to and from the room. The property is not that large and you can easily walk from point to point. We mostly left the golf cart parked at the room.

We ate dinner at AJ Spurs on the property. They served the best prime rib ever! The pieces we were served were like something out of the Flintstones!!

The only thing I wonder about is why guests with children are placed in areas where couples are. To me, this is not a resort that I would bring my kids to in the first place.

Over all, it was a wonderful experience and we would come here again!

Great place especially in off season, the prices can't be beat!
We booked online then asked for an oceanview after we got there. The upgrade was only $30 more, whereas it would have been a lot more booking it online. You get a golf cart to drive around in, that was nice. AJ Spurs Steakhouse on the property is a busy little place on the weekend, go ahead and make a reservation even though front desk says you don't need to. Lots of food, Veg/Beef soup is the free appetizer when you sit down!
Back to the room, the bathrooms were great with plenty of room, two closets, double pedestal sinks, easy for two people to get ready at the same time. The bed was comfortable. The mini bar is stocked well, but prices on some items, as usual, are high. The room could have used a small microwave if we stayed longer, that would have been handy. There is a fridge. The room is heated by the fireplace which did an excellent job. The carpets are fine, if anything, people track in sand and some sand gathers near the sliders at the balcony. It was barely noticeable. Great place, we will go back!

This resort was beautiful. When we arrived we were given instructions on operating the cute golf carts they give you to drive to your room. Cars are only allowed at the resturant and at the 2 parking areas by the front office. We were escorted to our room and our valet went over the room details for us. What a surprise to find a bottle of champagne with a sweet note from the staff congratulating my husband on his graduation from NPS in Monterey! We were very touched by their generosity. The room itself was beautiful and we were right at the top of the dunes looking down on the ocean. We were without kids for the first time in a very long time and used every minute at the resort to unwind and relax. Loved the heated (very warm!) pool and hot tub. Loved our view. Loved the sound of the waves all night long. Yes, there is a dunes restoration fee in addition to the room cost. We were happy to pay it to keep the dunes in good condition. You could even write it off on taxes as a charitable contribution. We did not eat at the restaurant but each night it was packed with people. The room was beautiful with a fireplace but could have used a little updating. There were some minor scuffs and dents in the walls. Could have used fresh paint. The tile in our bathroom was cracked. There is a strange closet in the bathroom with a shower door that could easily be another shower. There is enough room to make it into a beautiful shower with triple shower heads. Instead, it has one dresser inside. It is very wierd. We did notice exterior painting going on while we were there so maybe they are working their way to interior paint. We did get room service breakfast the morning of graduation and it came in a cute wicker basket with the newspaper. The coffee was piping hot and even though it was just fruit and pastries, it was worth it. All in all, we would stay here again given the opportunity. Staff was exceptional during our stay.

My husband and I just returned from Marina Dunes and we both are still talking about how wonderful it was. We stayed there 9/9 -9/11. When the bell hop took us into our room, our mouths dropped to the floor. The view was absolutely amazing. We were in room 610 (Jr. Oceanview Suite) which included the suite room and an extra bedroom with it's own private patio. It truly felt like a beach cottage. The patio was very good size and had a wooden picket fence around it as not to block any of the view. The furniture was very comfortable and the bath and bed lines were some of the nicest I've seen in a hotel environment. The staff was very courteous and friendly. I've read numerous reviews about how unfriendly and helpful the staff was while checking in and I don't know how that could have possibly happened. We arrived 2 hours early and they checked us is and took our phone number so they could call us incase the room became available early. They called us 1 hour later to tell us our room was ready.
I can't describe how beautiful the view was. We had a 180 view of the ocean and the sunset was amazing. We hung out on our patio the majority of our stay as the view was spectacular. In the mornings you could easily view the dolphins as they were everywhere.
I highly recommend this resort and look forward to returning in the future!
