“Quality dining with delightful marina view”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

I've been to this well established restaurant many times over the years but recently returned after a long absence.
I was delighted to find the restaurant to be as fresh and delicious as ever with a must-go-back-and-try-that kind of menu.
I enjoyed a generous small salad and a beautiful mussel appetizer. Then I stole some of my husband's swordfish, which was splendid. We shared an excellent chocolate panna cotta.
Wonderful wine list and plenty of excellent choices by the glass. Great marina views. Valet parking. Easy access to the Ritz....... Gee. .. What's not to love!

“Small Portions at a High Price”
Reviewed 18 April 2014

Cafe del Rey was once one of my favorite restaurants in Marina del Rey, however over the past few years the portion size has shrunk and the prices have gone up. They must be feling the pressure of the economy as they no longer have live piano music.
The bright spot in it all is sitting around the fireplace enjoying a drink with friends. They have an excellent happy hour and late night happy hour with a discount on drinks and excellent bar menu. I now eat in the bar area having drinks, truffle oil pizza, mussels and other items and get out for under $50... This is a great deal.

“Company event”
Reviewed 29 March 2014 via mobile

I attended a company event there and it was held in there private room. I think we had too many people to make it easy for networking and dinner. We had to practically jump into our seats because if the limited room. The food was good and timely. The service was great despite them having to jump around everyone to gets us our drinks. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. It's a short walk from the Marriott.

Having enjoyed lovely pre-lunch drinks at the Ritz Carlton with its fabulous view over the marina, sadly our lunch was a bit of a let down. It was all rather standard and unexciting, though the hamburger was good albeit lacking in nice presentation. The service was so quick that we had been served all three courses within the hour. Our waitress was nice and tried many times, sadly without success, to keep the door closed (strong draught) to the adjacent room where a function was being held.
