The room was clean, the shower and towels were good. The room was large, so large that the TV was too small to be that far from the bed. The parking is very tight if the motel is full. Perhaps this is a good value for its proximity to the park which might explain the abundance of stars. The reading light was broken and there was no Wi-Fi until the wee hours. The air conditioner was not adequate. For us, this is substandard. Did not care for their recommended restaurant (Charles Street Dinner House) even with the coupon. A relative recommended the Best Western, guess we should have listened.

We stayed there 3nights. The rates were very reasonable. About $119 a night. Rooms were clean, everything worked, it was quiet and the housekeepers left us these really nice notes like "hope you enjoy your stay and we noticed you didn't want the room cleaned because we had the do not disturb sign out". And it was signed. Nice touch. It was the beginning of summer so just about everything was sold out. We got lucky.

Only thing. We noticed that the front desk wasn't constantly manned. There were periods of long absences but nothing major. We and some of the other guests worked around them.

Nothing fancy but the price is right. Just how we like it.

Room Tip: we got a room facing directly west so the setting sun is really brutal on this side. However, we rea...

We stayed here 2 nights in mid June while visiting Yosemite. Nice little mom and pop motel. Room was spotless and had a good size fridge. I enjoyed the flowers on the property and we got in the pool 1 night. Overall a great place to stay within a reasonable driving distance to Yosemite. Nothing to complain about! We had breakfast at the Sugar Pine cafe both mornings and never had dinner in town so I can't recommend dinner places. We hoped to stay 1 more day but they did not have a room available so we got a room across the street at the Monarch for the same price. Would recommend this motel for anyone that does not need high end pampering and just a place to sleep.

Good value motel located about 45 minute drive from Yosemite, rooms were modern and a good size in a great location for the restaurants and shops in Mariposa.

Would highly recommend this place if travelling to the area.

The Lodge is one of those old school style motels, you know the kind, with the parking space in front of your room and the courtyard around the parking lot. BUT, it is updated, clean, quiet, comfortable, and 45 minutes from Yosemite.

We stayed one night last weekend. Our room was very big, it was spotless and well-kept. Good refrigerator and microwave and coffee maker. Unlike some other reviews, we had great water pressure in the shower and plenty of hot water. Sure the AC was a little noisy, but it is an older place. Very comfortable king bed. Our WiFi worked just fine.

The exterior was very well-maintained and had very nice landscaping. We enjoyed checking in with Jessica, who had a good sense of humor but still got everything right too.
As far as Mariposa, well, it's a small town, and on Sunday night everything except the restaurants was closed. Not there is much there anyway, but it is cute, quaint and historic. TWO U.S. Presidents stayed in Mariposa. A long time ago.

We ate dinner at Savourys and it was excellent.

Room Tip: Rooms in the back, in the courtyard are quieter.

On a 14 day trip to San Fran, Napa, Yosemite and Carmel. We stayed at some very nice places, but for the value, space and cleanliness, this was one of my faves. Room was huge with a nice little balcony, fridge and microwave. We had no issues with wifi, maybe we were in the right spot. Staff was friendly and helpful when we needed something. It is an older property so don't expect it to look like a modern four star hotel, but it is very well maintained and clean, located within walking distance to restaurants and downtown shops. Took us about an hour to get to Yosemite Valley from the hotel on Rt 140. Would stay here again.

I liked the hotel, but it's pretty basic, a clean room at a decent price on the way to Yosemite. The rooms are pretty basic (think Super 8). The AC worked very well in my room, and there was a fridge and a microwave. Wifi was nearly nonexistent in my room, but I could get a better signal outside my room (they have chairs to sit outside). They have a small pool, but it's really tiny, not really for swimming.

The hotel in the middle of the small town, and you can easily walk everywhere - restaurants, shops, gas station, a nearby Subway, and a small grocery store.

I booked directly with the hotel and got a good price with AAA. I would recommend this as it saved me a few dollars.
