After reading the positive reviews, we were very disappointed when we arrived and saw our room. It was small, nowhere to put anything, just the bedside tables. There was no fridge or facilities to make coffee - it was basically a bedroom with an ensuite! The furnishings were dated, albeit clean. Perhaps the rooms are being updated and we were in one of the old rooms - certainly nothing like the photo's online!
Checkin was by phone - no friendly face to greet you and answer questions or point you in the right direction! There was no info in the room re local attractions, restaurants, etc. There was only one chair to sit outside on the terrace - why not two? The communal table was rusting and shabby.
The town of Mariposa is very pretty and there is a tourist office, which unfortunately doesn't open until 9am, but the staff are very helpful. Close up Tours are based there and I strongly recommend them for a tour of Yosemite.
