High Country Health Foods is truly an oasis in the foothills. There is nothing like it for 50 miles in any direction. The sandwiches are tasty and healthy, and there is a large selection. The employees are friendly and helpful. Dining is casual and service is pretty quick. The location is right along the Highway 140 route to Yosemite, so it is a perfect place to pick up your picnic lunch before you get to the park. And the store has one of the best selections of health food and organic produce in the foothills. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a healthy and tasty meal.

Great cafe for lunches and shopping for unique items and heath foods. Friendly service with a light and airy dining area with casual style.

I have eaten here several times and the food is always great. My wife shops in the connected grocery store and she loves it. Wednesday is black bean enchilada day and you won't be disappointed. The sandwiches are awesome and filling. It might be a couple dollars more than Subway, but you can taste the quality. The chocolate chip cookies by the register are awesome.

High Country is a small restuarant in the same building with a health food store. It is right off the main highway and the parking is a little challenging. You walk up and order and they bring the food out to you. The menu selection is not very large. There are about 12 tables. Our food came out pretty quickly. We both had sandwiches mine was a falafel on pita and my wife had a turkey on kaiser roll (?). Both were really quite good. You serve yourself iced tea from containers near the tables. Our only complaint: the sandwiches were served with corn chips instead of a mini-salad or fruit. We'd go back.

Probably the absolutely best lunch we had along our three-weeks trip across the usa...
Free wifi, healthy and tasteful food served by young smiling buddies who made up our day, with amazingly honest prices.
Thank you :)
