“A great place to experience Ranch life!”
Reviewed 31 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We were on a road trip around California and spent 3 days at the Ranch to enable us to see Yosemite. Yosemite was stunning but we loved our time at the ranch even more! Lesli was a wonderfully welcoming host and went out of her way to ensure we had a great stay including giving myself and my teenage daughter a riding lesson and my husband and son a chance to shoot some clays! Helping to herd some of her cattle was one of the most fun things we did the whole trip!
The rental house is larger than we expected and had all the necessities we needed, including a BBQ which we enjoyed in the evenings whilst looking out over the stunning landscape. Yes it is next to the chicken run and expect a morning wake up call from the cockerel but isn't that all part of the experience?!
We loved this place!

“Many hours on the nice patio”
Reviewed 7 May 2014 for a stay in April 2014

This lovely cottage is located 8,5 miles from Mariposa town centre. You find the Ben Hur road opposite the Fairgrounds just south of town. Look for the house number on the mailboxes. The owners had decorated the little house (with 3 bedrooms, 2x queen + 1x 2 single superb beds) for a family member who did not use is in the end. Now guests are welcome for around 100 dollars a night. The cottage is well taking care off. Cozy decorated (with a big fire in the middle of the living room), good size kitchen with a big fridge, freezer, 4 pit gas stove, oven, coffee machine, toaster etc. The small bathroom has a bath/shower, toilet and tiny sink. All need and clean. We spent lovely hours at the terraces in the front and the back of the house with it's amazing views. You are in the middle of nowhere and that (together with the attentive and friendly care of the owners) makes it a wonderful place to be. We were only sorry that Internet was not available in the cottage and even weak at the porch of the owners house. This is however easy to solve.....s

“Home from Home”
Reviewed 19 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Stayed for 4 nights with family while visiting Yosemite National Park. From when we arrived to when we left we were made to feel so at home at the Ranch. Lesli and Mike are fantastic hosts. The ranch house was nicely fitted out. The dining table was big enough for 6 people and we all found our beds to be comfortable. AC is provided and a fireplace for winter time. Linens and towels were provided which is great, otherwise it is all extra things you need to remember to bring and of course carry. The Ranch has it's own pets and animals and you will most likely see wild turkeys, Bob cats, Deers, rabbits and ground squirrels from your front porch. Mariposa (8 miles away) is a quaint small town with some good coffee shops, bakery and a good restaurant (Savourys). Access to Yosemite is perfect as the closest entrance is approximately 45 minutes away and is really quiet. The other entrance via Oakhurst can have a line as long as 1 mile to get in! The Ranch is in a very quiet location, with little to no light pollution at night and is a reasonable distance from the road although there is virtually no traffic to be seen. We took road bikes with us and while the roads were very quiet for riding I have to say that the hills are challenging. Whenever we go back to this area we will stay here from now on.

This was a great little cottage in a scenic location. Only 8 miles from Mariposa, which has all necessary amenities & shops. And only 50 mins. from Yosemite Valley. The cottage was very clean and cosy, and Lesli & Mike very welcoming owners. It was wonderfully quiet at night (but beware the nearby chook shed in the morning). We could roam over the farm & meet the animals. It has a cosy wood heater (wood supplied), full size gas stove & large fridge. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom small, but functional. WiFi internet access. Plenty of books, videos etc. It is reasonably close to the main house, but that was never a problem, privacy-wise.
