“What a find”

This little place looks like something from a western. Once inside though the food and the ambience excel. Great choice of food. Probably the best burger I had whilst in California! My husband had the pasts, with New York steak - all cooked to perfection. Fabulous meal!

“Unexpected Gem”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

We were in search of good pub food and a beer after a HOT day in Yosemite and were a little concerned that this restaurant would be too "fancy" for what we were needing. We were pleasantly surprised to find not only a good assortment of craft beer and appetizers, but also an extensive wine list, and food choices that were a cut above what one would have expected to find in tiny Mariposa, CA.

Plus the service and welcoming attitude were so appreciated after a hard day sightseeing - they actually let us in a few minutes before they were due to open! The hostess was sooo friendly and knowledgeable and told us about the owner/chef and his focus. Though we didn't have room to try desserts, our waitress said they were all made in-house.

We left cooled off, relaxed, satisfied and happy - a special experience that was totally unexpected.

“Excellent meal”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

We hadn't booked anywhere and were beginning to despair, but the staff were really helpful and we didn't have to wait too long for a table. The food was excellent, hot and tasty and we really enjoyed it. The only slight niggle was we were on a rather cramped table by the door and people were standing waiting by our elbows!! But at least we didn't go hungry!!

“Not Impressed”
Reviewed 13 June 2014

We ate three nights in Mariposa. Based upon reviews and menus this was the first place we ate and our poorest choice. The food is way overpriced. It is not bad, just a lot more than you have to pay in other restaurants in Mariposa for better selection and quality. My wife did order a steak medium-well that came out rare. This seems to be a recurring problem, as other reviewers have experienced the same problem.

“Best food near Yosemite”
Reviewed 11 June 2014

We stopped here for lunch on our way to Yosemite, just a small quirky American diner, it completely outweighed our expectations. Staff were very welcoming and service great. My husband had a rack of ribs and I ordered a bacon cheeseburger. JUST DELICIOUS! We had been doing a long Californian road trip and so had eaten at a lot of restaurants on the way, this place we remember as being a fantastic meal with surprisingly low prices.
