The Rio hotel has made very much improvement in the last year. I pass thru Marysville quite often for business , and i usually stay there and the landscaping is very appealing, the palm trees and the lawn is always kept up. The rooms are very nice with flat screen tvs, wifi and micro and fridge, they did very nice remodeling job , but they forgot to get new beds . My last two trips thru i stayed at the baymont because i just couldnt sleep on those beds, and i dont think i will be returning until they replace the old ones, so if you like firm mattress, the rio hotel is the place. The staff is very friendly and accomodating, and morning breakfast provides a little more than the usual continental breakfast. , very nice. Though i did notice one thing they recently hired a new maintenance guy there, some latin fellow with a mohawk that gave me a eerie feeling, I noticed that he obviously lives there , but makes himself just a little to comfortable and quite unprofessional, he was just zipping around the place like a rabbitt from one end of hotel to the other and he seemed to be addressing every car that pulled in , as if it was a drive in the cars would pull in he would go to there window and then they would pull out, it was pretty obvious what was going on. and he is part of the staff he should act professional and wear a shirt, not run around shirtless all sweaty and overamped. He is bad news and a little to obvious, i mean they worked hard to clean up the place, to just hire some seedy looking live in handyman. Every time i go there i see to much of this guy and thats a little uncomfortable for me. the guy obviously lives there with his girlfriend , the shouldnt make it obvious that they live there and keep there druggy friends away from there. The hard beds i can overlook but then this guy makes this hotel look bad , i wont be staying there until hes gone for good.and his friends.

Room Tip: Nice place but choose a room close to the office, because the maintenance guy and all his company stay on the right side of the hotel

Stayed here one night- new owners are trying hard to turn this place around- beds were in bad shape- honestly felt like they put a 2x4 under the covers for support- bathroom was old and had some hair from another guest. Staff was helpful and doing their best- breakfast was a nice touch.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a new bed

This little motel looks so very retro from the outside. The rooms are interesting with tile floors, although ours had an area rug also. Unfortunately the rug was stained. The furniture is more like a modern home than a motel & interesting. Wiring for TV ran uncovered up by the door frame. The price was right however, much cheaper than most in the area. When we asked the front desk clerk for refills on the breakfast items, he was very quick to comply. Be aware that you are close to the motocross track, this is a good thing if you are racing, but there may be quite a few racers staying there too and there will be some noise later in the morning as the racing starts. We would stay here again in the winter months, but would miss having a pool in the hotter seasons.

I'd stay here again the next time I need to visit nearby family. It's not a place to hang out in for any length of time since there is nothing around to do, but it serves its purpose well -- a place to sleep and shower. It was very clean, great water pressure in shower and comfortable beds. Window cooler was finicky (aren't they all?) and the refrigerator made enough noise that we had to turn it off to get to sleep. When we returned from a late dinner, there were a few large grain-type trucks parked along the inside edge of the guest parking which we didn't give much thought to. Then, at 4 am, we were awakened by their engine rumble and 'beeping' as they must have been backing up to work their way out of the lot. Next time we visit we'll ask for a room in the back, if they are done renovating those, so we can get a quiet night's sleep. The continental breakfast was also clean and nicely presented---mostly grocery store pastries, bagels, fruit, etc. but that's what we eat at home so hit the spot.

Room Tip: Ask for room away from street & check fridge noise before settling in.
