“Nice inexpensive place to stay”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Comfort Suites provides a nice quiet comfortable place to relax & rest. The rooms are large with lots of amenities. The staff is very congenial and helpful. They provide a very nice hot breakfast for 6 am to 9am. I would definitely stay here again when in the area.

My husband and I just stayed in this hotel for 6 days with our 3 young granddaughters. I can't say enough good things about this place! We started out in a basic room with a king-sized bed and sofa sleeper. When that arrangement didn't work well for us because we felt cramped, the staff recommended the 2-bedroom suite and offered us a discount on it. We were much more comfortable in the 2-bedroom suite because we and the children had our own rooms. Each bedroom has an air conditioning unit, so the temperature can be different in different rooms.

We didn't hear ANY noise coming from the other rooms, so the hotel must be well insulated.

The windows actually open, which is such a nice feature. Hotel rooms become so stuffy when a window can't be opened. There was a good amount of air circulation when we opened windows in both bedrooms.

We were in a room right next to the elevator, but we could not hear it ascending and descending. We also did not hear the guests if they were talking while waiting for the elevator.

The breakfast was good! The eggs were real eggs, not that strange powdery stuff you sometimes get at a hotel breakfast buffet. Also, the eggs weren't always scrambled. Some days they served small cheese omelets, and other days the eggs were in the shape of a patty. Hard to explain, but it was a nice change from scrambled eggs. They also have yogurt that does not contain chemical sweeteners. That was a real plus for our family. We also enjoyed making our own waffles. There were hard-boiled eggs, bananas, apples, and oranges available every morning. They also have a few cold cereals to choose from. I'm eating a gluten-free diet, so I appreciated the Cheerios. Of course, they have coffee, milk, and juice available too.

The pool was a delight to our granddaughters! On the day we arrived, the water was too hot for our comfort. It felt like a Jacuzzi to us. Erin was quick to turn down the heat when we asked for a cooler temperature.

Every single staff member that we encountered over our 6-day stay was very friendly and helpful! They always smiled and greeted us when we entered the hotel, and Dereck even bussed our breakfast table for us without being asked to do so. He was especially kind to our granddaughters. We enjoyed interacting with Heather and the manager, Jean. The maids were very friendly and helpful, too.

We stayed in a room that faced the street, and it was rather noisy because of the traffic and the train. I wore earplugs, so it didn't bother me, but light sleepers might want a room facing the back parking lot.

The bathroom in the 2-bedroom unit is quite large, which was convenient for our family since we had 3 girls in there at the same time quite often, brushing their teeth and rinsing off after taking a swim.

The beds are clean, firm, and comfortable. The pillows were a bit puffy for my taste, but the rest of my family liked them.

Overall, we had a delightful time, and we will be returning to this hotel the next time we are in Marysville.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 3rd floor and enjoyed not having anyone staying above us.

Very clean hotel and rooms, friendly, helpful staff. Good inexpensive place to stay in the area. Has an small indoor pool, free breakfast in the morning including waffles, eggs, pastries, etc. A few areas of carpet wear in the halls, but the room was clean. Our smoke detector went off when we turned the heater on, but likely because the heater hadn't been used in a while. Would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that doesn't face the road/ parking lot and the train will be less heard.

I stayed here to accompany my brother John to his 50th MUHS reunion. First problem was solved by very helpful desk clerk who printed out how to navigate the narrow roads to Country Club near Plumas Lake. Unfortunately, our Tom Tom GPS navigator steered us to a dead end road at the base of a big levee. Eventually we found the Country Club 5 minutes down at the other dead end of the narrow road. The reunion was great and my brother John had a lot of fun meeting old classmates and catching up on old times.

We were tired so we really appreciated the nice firm queen beds in the spacious 2-bedroom room with cool air conditioning. Everything was perfect except that the 2nd room did not have separate toilet or half bathroom.

The in-house breakfast that was self-served 6-9 am was just what we needed to rejuvenate after a night of reminiscing and dining. I liked the scrambled eggs and the hot breafast biscuits were steaming fresh right out of the oven. I was too full to try their waffles or hard boiled egg.

As we checked out, the desk clerk even printed out the driving directions to Redding for us. Unfortunately our Tom Tom directed us off Highway half way between Chico and red Bluff ... but that is another story and a bad review for Tom Tom to be written....

Room Tip: Ask for 2 separate bedrooms for privacy.

Stayed here twice to see some Marysville Gold Sox baseball just up the road. The price was reasonable, the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The staff was very courteous (especially breakfast attendant). A room facing the street was a lot noisier than a room in the back facing a back parking lot. The back parking lot was well lit, cameras on site, and felt comfortable leaving items in the car. Internet station/computer room a giant plus. The breakfast was well maintained and stocked, but could go a little later for those of us not staying there for business and who want to avoid the early morning family kid noise and chaos. This will be my hotel of choice when back in town for baseball.

We have been to the Comfort Suites here many times. This visit was helped by the caring and efficiency of the staff, as one family member living nearby was recently deceased. This was not a visit to a hotel, it was a hotel where our family was supported. We will return, naturally.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Second floor on freeway side and very noisy. The breakfast was good. I get the impression that once you show an AARP or AAA card for a discount, you are put in a less than desirable room (upstairs, noisy side of hotel or next to laundry, etc.) as it seemed to be the case at nearly every hotel we stayed the last two weeks.

Room Tip: After they quote you a price, ask if you can have a room on the main floor or quieter part of the ho...
