We would have been happy just to have found a place that was so affordable yet close to the heart of Mendocino, but the Western town theme was a wonderful added bonus. It's true that it would have been better in some ways to be in the main part of town, but it really wasn't that much trouble to drive a few minutes and find a parking place. And I think it was much quieter where we were. And I can't imagine anywhere in town being this much fun, not to mention affordable. We were in the Saloon room. I thought I would find it all ridiculously cheesy, but it's surprisingly well done and there are lots of nice details like the basket of snacks. It also would have been nice to have a real view of the ocean--we could only see a sliver of it--but it was a lovely, sunny outlook on trees and we knew we'd be looking at the ocean all day as we drove along the coast.

We just stayed three nights at the Blackberry Inn. The exterior of the inn looks like a western town. (done very tastefully). Each room being a different business. We stayed in the saloon. The room had free wifi, a king size bed, fridge, microwave, couch, table and chairs (stored in closet), tea/coffee maker, a basket full of fruit and home made cookies/brownies and cake. Ocean view. The inn is located about a mile from town on a hill. We didn't hear a sound. It was very peaceful. The bed was comfortable and the tv had a large number of channels (what most people have in their home). The employees were all nice. We gave the room 4 stars as the sink and bathroom could use an update (regrout the sink). There was plenty of hot water and fresh, white towels that were in excellent condition. The amenities made up for it thought and therefore they earn 5 stars. We highly recommend the Blackberry Inn and would definitely return.

This is a lovely Inn. Rooms were nicely furnished and made you feel very comfortable. I would go back this week end if we didn't live so far away.

The Blackberry Inn is very cute and a good value. The complex is set up as an old Western town. We stayed in the Barber Shop, two queen beds, a microwave, fridge and free wireless Internet. When the fog lifted we even had a view of the ocean! My friend when for an early morning walk and saw wild turkeys and a small herd of deer.

The rooms were spotlessly clean.

This place is cute,it is made to look like an old western town. It is far away from downtown mendocino however and the ocean views are not as good as they make them look on the website. They give you a cute basket of goodies in your room when you arrive, and we got wine as well (from a local vineyard). The rooms are pretty spacious, and clean as well. the office is near the rooms and the ice is near the office. It sits up on a hill overlooking the bluffs. They have wireless internet, which is nice when you are in a city that you do not know. We had lunch at the bayview cafe downtown, it was okay food but a bit overpriced. We also went to North coast brewery for dinner in Fort Bragg which is about a 8 minutes from the hotel. They had good food. Earlier in the day we did wine tasting through the valley and there are some outstanding wines here. And good prices, there are several on the same road (have a designated driver, the cops were looking to pull someone over the day we were there).

We were absolutely delighted with out stay at the Blackberry Inn. The room was large and well equiped. We looked out our large back windows to see beautiful countryside and the ocean. The managers and owner were so welcoming and helpful. They were totally committed to making our stay the best it could be. The beds were the most comfortable I've ever slept on in a hotel or inn. The 'Old West' building facades were adorable and added to the experience and the home made baked goods were heavenly. We highly recommend the Blackberry Inn.
