We celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary here and enjoyed our stay very much.
Our cabin was immaculately clean and perfect! All the amenities you could possibly want are available. We had an amazing ocean view and thoroughly enjoyed our delicious homemade breakfast. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The bed was so so comfortable with super high thread count sheets and a deep dreamlike mattress pad! We slept like babies! The gardens weave around the property with abundant vibrant flowers. Lawn chairs invite you to sit a spell and enjoy the magnificence of the Mendocino coast right before your eyes! We didn't want to leave! So we will be back sometime soon!

this hotel is a great find - friendly, very clean, great location and view. The staff is very friendly and helpful and it is the perfect location to watch the sunset and the waves. Don't miss the breakfast with different homemade goodies each day. Will stay here again.

Thank you for the 5 Star review from another one of our East Coast visitors! Sunsets this time of year are awesome! We are blessed with our location so that our guests can relax with their glass of complimentary wine on our cliffside bench and feel a world away from it all!

We spent 3 nights at Sea Rock Inn and it was an absolutely wonderful place to stay. We were in one of the upstairs rooms (#18) with a great view of the ocean. The room was very comfortable and quiet. The bed was a bit hard (but with a fluffy "feather" top) but it was fine for me.

The staff in the front office was always cheerful and welcoming, offering to help with dinner reservations and making recommendations on things to do. Very pleasant.

The breakfasts were quite good, although seating could be a bit of a problem on busy mornings (they offered to call us in our room when a spot opened up, or you could bring a tray back to your room). A different quiche each day (all were delicious), a great variety of fresh fruit, and a fresh pastry of some sort each day. Breakfast was available from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, which was fine.

You have an assigned parking space by your room, and the housekeeping staff would watch that. When your car was gone they would know that they could come in to clean the room. Very convenient.

Mendocino is a wonderful town, with lots of places to eat, and we were hiking in the various state parks nearby (many excellent hikes just minutes away, either way on the highway).

The inn is less than a half mile out of town, so in good weather we were able to walk in to town for dinner and/or shopping. The road is a bit narrow but not bad - make sure that you take a flashlight with you if you are coming back after dark. We didn't feel that it was a problem (but without a flashlight it would not have been safe).

We absolutely will stay here the next time we visit Mendocino!

Room Tip: Some rooms have a better view than others, look at the web site for details. Some of the smaller roo...

You are hired! What a beautiful review of the Sea Rock Inn! It is reviews like yours that put out the word of what the Sea Rock is all about. Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed 'article'. Our location, only a short walk from the village, is one of our attractions. We do though, recommend not walking the road into town after dark. We are rural with very few street lights, which on the positive side, makes gazing at the stars over the ocean so awesome!

I am always Leary about booking hotels based in reviews as I am never quite sure if the reviewer is as picky as I am on hotels. I booked the Sea Rock in based only on reviews as I had no other connections in Mendocino. From the moment I made my reservation I knew I was in for a treat! samone was very helpful, made sure I had a perfect room for our 25th anniversary and arranged for wonderful dinner reservations. We checked into room 12 overlooking the beautiful garden out to the ocean and sunset. The room was wonderful, clean and well appointed. There were chairs on our porch to sit and watch the sunset as we sipped in our wine that was generously given to us for our anniversary! The location is perfect...close to town and close to Hwy 1 where we took our daily excursions down the coast. I would highly recommend this hotel. When talking with the other guests as were all watching the sunset, everyone seemed to feel exactly as we did...completely thrilled to be in such a wonderful spot! And a bonus is the delicious breakfast of fresh fruit, breads, hard boiled eggs, quiche and yogurt/granola parfaits each morning!

Thank you for your detailed comments on your stay with us. We are happy that you enjoyed your accommodation. It is one of the most popular 'celebration' ocean view suites we have. Our breakfasts are geared toward a variety of tastes and are pleased when we hit the mark with most. Thank you for your great recommendation and the 5 Stars.

We liked our room, but it was not the one we reserved. It was changed without our knowledge and we told them they had made a mistake. We liked it, but it was meant for a handicapped person and had two beds. We only needed one. Too much furniture. These sentences have no "buts": It had a great ocean view, without that it would have been just average. It had lovely and helpful hosts. They had cookies in the afternoon.
We liked the breakfasts, but the one hot dish they had was the same with different ingredients served the second and third day we were there. The pastry was different each day. If changes were made re: assigned room and breakfast we would certainly return.
Forgot: Their email to us said to rate them excellent, no other choice????

Room Tip: Be sure you get the room you reserve. Ask about the breakfasts.

Thank you to our Bay Area guest for taking the time to write a review for the Sea Rock Inn. We are glad you enjoyed the view from our property and the staff was helpful. Our breakfast quiches and pastries are brought to our door fresh from a bakery in the Mendocino Village each morning so are piping hot and right out of the oven. We are delighted to provide for special breakfast tastes and needs upon request.

At the last minute before your arrival there was a maintenance emergency in the room you booked and unfortunately you were not made aware of the change in your accommodation upon your arrival. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you and will be more aware in the future of advising guests of any changes. We would love to be able to host another visit for you.

My husband and I celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary with a trip to California. Our dream spot was to be an oceanside bed and breakfast. Sea Rock Inn, Mendocino was the perfect spot. The view was spectacular, the room was wonderful, the food superb and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We especially appreciated the extra touches here and there. They thought of everything. A complimentary bottle of wine and well wishes for our anniversary celebration was another thoughtful gesture. Mendocino is a lovely town with lots of choices for activities.

Our out of state guests are just awed by the ocean and the view that is afforded by the Sea Rock Inn property. It's fun to be able to pamper our anniversary couples, we want them to always remember the special time they had in Mendocino. Thank you for your great review!

We stumbled upon this hidden beauty, and we can only say....Wonderful! Everything you could hope for in a first class room. Thick plush bathrobes, very luxurious bedding, tv, wifi, coffee maker, all in a beautifully appointed atmosphere. Even binoculars if needed. Breakfast included, all for a very reasonable price. This is the place you want to stay at. Oh yes, the staff is eager to please.

Another 'east coaster' finds us on the west coast! We love chatting with our opposite coast friends about what is great about this area and learn from them what is fun about their home coast. And what better time to do that than over breakfast. Thank you for noticing the little details that are provided to make your stay all the more special! The recommendation is greatly appreciated!~
