“Nothing to write home about”

Mediocre service and fine but not memorable food made our experience here tolerable but not something we are likely to repeat anytime soon. Running out of items on a not very busy Saturday night, messing up the order and slow, poor service made it an evening to forget. Our favorite memory of the night was when the waiter came by to ask how everything was...and he had only brought water at that point. We complimented him on the water and knew we were in for a looong evening!

“One of our family favorites”
Reviewed 5 April 2013

My husband and I eat here or do take out every few weeks. It is so hard to find great food that can survive being carried home. This is owned by the same person that owned Cafe Pro Bono in Palo Alto. We were happy to discover upon selling his Palo Alto restaurant that he opened Trellis. He really cares that you have a great dining experience with delicious well prepared food. You can get the best bolognese here hands down! It is rarely made properly. Our other favorite is the veal parmigiana. So tender, breaded perfectly with outstanding delivery, side of linguine for the extra red sauce and incredibly fresh vegetables. We always order those two dishes and share. My mom loves the clam linguine and my niece the scallop fettuccine. Susan's Downfall - ravioli with impeccable creamy Gorgonzola sauce finished with crunchy almonds should be tried at least once. It's pretty rich, so splitting the entree as an appetizer between several people is a wonderful way to have a taste and leave room for more dishes. A small dining room flanks the street. Don't be fooled into thinking it's sparsely occupied. There is a dining room in back that is often busy. In the Summer months we are gratified to sit outside at their rooftop deck and enjoy a leisurely lunch or dinner with a few drinks. Great for couples, family gatherings, friends and, of course, take out.

“A nice dinner with friends”
Reviewed 17 March 2013

Good food, well-prepared. There was a varied selection. We'd return. We enjoyed the booths in the back. Apparently there is rooftop patio seating as well - good for warm weather.

“Great spot to eat with family”
Reviewed 27 February 2013

Had a awesome meal here with a great friend. The owner came down to greet each guest - very cool.

Inspired: Susan’s Downfall

Pro: location, staff, rooftop patio

Con: does not look like much on the outside but don't be fooled - stop in!

Return: for sure
