We stayed here for a quick night (had to leave at 5am for airport). We got a queen room with the hot tub and it was clean and comfortable. The rain shower was a nice touch. Surene, the front desk man was excellent and opened the breakfast room for my wife so she could get some togo coffee cups. He was courteous and professional and when the shuttle was a bit late to get us (only by a few minutes but I get nervous) assured me it would arrive and get us to the airport.
Near everything we needed. Staff were very helpful and kind. Room very nice and clean. Quite and so we got good sleep. Many places to eat breakfast and dinner. Airport was close if we need to travel by air.
We chose this location over the other La Quinta nearby because of people's reviews and we are glad to stay at La Quinta SFO West. Front desk staff are very friendly and welcoming. It was a nice surprise when we were told that we are upgraded to a room with kitchen though we didn't really use it. Whether at the front desk or calling from our room, the staff are very prompt. It was a great experience. Our room keeper has done a great job keep it clean.
The hotel is across the airport on the other side of the highway and also near the train track. If you are a light sleeper, you may be disturbed by the train at night. The location is surprisingly convenient. Safeway, Trader Joe's and Walgreens are close by. Lots of restaurant are along El Camino Real and on Broadway just a block from Safeway.
There is room to improve on their breakfast. The scrambled egg was dry. Other than that, we appreciate the good selection of drinks and the staff refilling the food and cleaning up the tables so fast.
If we are visiting San Francisco next time, we will consider staying here again.
This hotel is fine and convenient to SFO. The bed was super comfortable. Other plusses: free parking (though that may be standard for the area, I'm not sure); very nice employees; punctual and convenient airport shuttle. Not-so-great stuff: no towel racks in the bathroom and the floor was really slippery when wet; our room looked out onto a major road so there was some traffic noise; the breakfast, while free, was pretty bad (the eggs were inedible). Basically, it's a nice, standard chain hotel with a good staff, and I'd recommend it if you're catching an early flight out of SFO.
