“GREAT roadstop!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 October 2012

Stopped here on a Sunday on our way back from Las Vegas and was pleasantly surprised.

My wife and I had an early lunch/dinner here and thoroughly enjoyed our stop. The cafe, with it's neat collection of old pedal cars (our favorite was the jeep) was spotless, cozy and inviting. We were warmly greeted and directed to a comfortable booth.

Since it was a Sunday, the special was a roast turkey platter, which we ordered with an onion ring appetizer.

The onion rings were large, freshly made, and perfectly coated. Served with a ranch dressing, they were an instant hit.

The turkey plate that followed was also delicious. It most definitely was NOT your standard hot turkey plate: (Deli slices of turkey roll, canned gravy and mashed potatoes from a box, served over stale bread or package dressing)

This consisted of freshly carved roasted whole turkey (no turkey roll or deli-style slices here) over a generous portion of dressing, and home-made mashed potatoes that never saw a flake or box, covered in a mouth-watering turkey gravy that was seasoned just right.

Standard accompaniments of cranberry sauce and steamed vegetables. Also served with a generous slice of fresh cornbread.

A very generous and delicious meal at a reasonable price made an impromptu meal stop a very pleasant experience. We heartily recommend Mike's for the hungry traveler.

“See the pedal vicars & enjoy very good food!”

Breakfast all day met our needs. Bacon crisp as requested. Butter provided with a smile when asked for my very good short stack of pancakes. Collection of pedal cars in excellent condition fun to see.

“Typical Diner Food”

The food is acceptable, and there is a good bit of variety. However, nothing stands out.

“The Best Food in Mojave”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 June 2012

While the title might be a bit misleading as there isn't very many alternatives, the food there is actually quite good. This is your basic roadhouse diner with the typical breakfast fare, lunch and dinner. Everything that I've had there has been good, including a fine little steak, chicken fried steak etc.
Previously the service was a bit slow but the last time I was there, that seemed to be rectified.

Stop in and enjoy a good meal.

“A great American Diner”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2012

Mojave is not a place to go for restaurants. The choices are basically Denny's or Mike Roadhouse. We were not expecting much, but this place was pretty good! I got a huge portion of fried chicken, with a baked potato, coleslaw (the kind with little bits of pineapple) and a slab of cornbread. All were very tasty! My husband enjoyed his NY steak with mushrooms, garlic bread, peas & carrots and a baked potato. Dinners were in the $10-$14 range. They have wine (red and white) and beer. Desserts looked good, but we were way too full to get one. Service was good and friendly. Eat here - you'll enjoy it too!
