try it. If you arrive and the sunset is not more than 2hrs away...get in ccw. It's really challenging to walk the path other way around. You can't see where your feet are, when going down the rings :). And the differnt perspective make you look outwards the canyon (and into all other faces) -> you don't see rocks all the time. Instead you see when the canyon is suddenly open into the desert. If it's close to dawn you'll have a great reddish view. (then keep left and walk around the hill/rock)
The next half (by time) of the round is not that much exiting. At the end don't turn left straight to your car. If you follow the signs to the campground there's a little path wher they named the unknown bushes of the Mohave. At the end turn left and follow the sign to picnic area.
If you want some more exitement it'll be interesting to follow the unpaved road "Black Canyon Road" (I-15 Exit272 to fuel station//follow Cima Road//turn right on Kelso Cima Road and then turn left on Cedar Canyon Road//then right onto Black Canyon Road)
All unpaved but i did it with a Hyundai Elantra = The Opposite of an ATV. Don't go slow. If you're faster than 30mph the shaking stops ;) Don't listen to your wife...
Only 2 small rocks on the way may make you think about your mobile...
