Since the first time I came here-30 years ago-there has been a lot of renovation & the shops were inviting. Still touristy, but fun.

I was visiting my daughter who was stationed in Monterey at the Presidio and we enjoyed several days on Cannery Row. There's a lot of shops, restaurants, and things to do. We even went whsle watching while there.m

Paying $7-$12 to park for a 2 hour visit was not worth it in my eyes. While there is some great history at this location, it has mainly been taken over by touristy shops and restaurants. Many shops have closed as can be seen by the "space for lease" signs in the empty windows.

We visited Cannery Row early in the morning and found it to be a very quiet and picturesque place, lots of lovely little shops and a great breakfast or lunch stop off

The Cannery Row somehow reminds me of the boardwalk in Santa Cruz - crowded and almost impossible to find a parking space. I don't want to sound negative because if you enjoy shopping and have a few hours to invest this could be the place for you...but not for me. I demand a bit more than just a few shops to be satisfied and that might just be the reason on why I do not find this place so exciting.
