Good hotel facilities, rooms were lovely, paid a resort fee per room $22 which included free room wi-fi. Our travel advisor had told us this would be per person, but was actually per room. Sports bar was nice (reasonable priced). Cater well for our travel companion who has a severe nut allergy

A stop off on our road trip from LA to San Fran we chose to stay with the Hyatt.

We had read the reviews so knew this hotel was getting a little past it and it is.

In arrival in our room we found an old mobile aircon unit blowing, thread bare curtains and a tired old room generally.

All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, time Hyatt spent some money here though!

I do have to agree with the other posts that mention the how loud stand alone AC unit is not ideal. My view was of a parking lot and yes, the walls were thin. But the location was perfect - right next to lots of activities and good restaurants and activities in Carmel and Monterey. The staff was friendly and helpful. The shower was nice (and clean) - The shower head was adjustable so that tall people like my husband don't have to bend down to wet their hair. We purchased a smores kit from the bar in the lobby and walked to a fire pit to make smores with our kids, which was fun. So overall, I thought it was a good stay.

I like this Hyatt. The rooms are clean, modern, and well equipped. I don't mind the air conditioner situation mentioned in some other reviews, primarily because the weather in Monterey rarely calls for anything but an open window. The beds are very comfortable. I wouldn't like it here nearly as much if I paid full price, however. But using a few different online price hunting apps I have stayed here twice for $100-120 per night, which feels like a pretty good deal. Just watch out for two things: the "resort" fee, which is silly, annoying (this place is really NOT a resort), and not negotiable; and the morning buffet which will, if you partake, cost you $30 bucks by the time you include tax and tip. Save your money and eat a good breakfast for half the price or less somewhere else.

We recently spent two nights in the Hyatt during our road trip from San Francisco down to LA with various stops en route. This hotel was everything we had been hoping for. We were lucky enough to get adjoining rooms which usually does not happen even when requested. The rooms were very large with very comfortable beds. We also used the Fitness centre which had everything one would want in a hotel gym and the children used the pool which they liked. The surroundings of the hotel are nice and look out to a golf course. There are no restaurants near the hotel so we did eat in the Sports Bar. Food was fairly cheap. The pizza and salads were nice but the nacho's are to be avoided on our opinion as covered in horrible processed cheese. However, it is a Sports Bar so we were not expecting top quality food. Overall, a very nice two days with great rooms.

Stayed here recently on our honeymoon for 2 nights. After a long drive, we arrived and checked in. Check in was fine, reception staff were friendly. Room was nice.

On our return home, we noticed a charge on our credit card of $44. Two weeks ago, we queried this charge and were told it was a hotel services fee (which you would think would be included in the room rate). We were not informed of this at check in or check out. We stayed in many hotels during our stay in USA and never came across such a charge. We voiced our dissatisfaction that we were never informed of this charge at any point. Over two weeks on, we have not received any reply and yes, they still have our money.

We did like the hotel itself but would never recommend it to anybody after this.

As we were driving from Santa Barbara to San Francisco before flying home I wanted to find a comfortable hotel just off our route that would be ideally situated for an early start on the day of our flight (with a relatively short drive) this is what we got.
By the time we arrived at the hotel we simply wanted to relax; the pool was great although rather a lot of noisy children.
We then decided to eat In the hotel Sports Bar before retiring for the night.
Great hotel for what we wanted!
