Like all seaside places the Wharf has lots of eateries and gift shops. Good place for a stroll and browse.

Great view, good cocktail, attentive service, food...really disappointing, really overpriced, really cold. Seriously, my dinner was less than warm. Don't get why this place was busy.

When there are such great parks and pathways along the Monterey Coastal Trail, the Fisherman's Wharf is just another tourist trap with restaurants and shops for tourists.
The Big Fish Grill at the end of the pier has an upper deck open to the public for viewing the marina area. Also, if you don't go into the pier at all and just look at the mini harbour that is the marina you can avoid the crowd and in the lat afternoon see the seals that come to pick a spot to spend the night. The otters also come into the marina towards the end of the day.

Took a nice walk from hotel to explore the area and was very pleased. The weather was perfect and it was great to see some of the local area. Lots of bikers and other walkers/runners enjoying the same area. Fun to hear all the sounds from the water. Happy that most of the area was very clean.
