This was our first visit to the Monterey area. We chose this hotel thinking it would be closer to the downtown area and more easily "walkable." We didn't find that to be the case. Our room, however, was very comfortable although the balcony overlooked the street and a Mercedes dealership. Street traffic noise was a bit of an issue, although not enough to consider requesting a change. There is a funky little restaurant on the next block - The Wild Plum - that serves a great breakfast!
