This place isn't going to get confused with the Lodge at Pebble Beach any time soon, but it was fine for one night. Older fixtures and furnishings, to be sure, but clean and comfortable enough for an evening.

very kind owner.
room clean and fully equipped (even a "simulated" fireplace).
If you are by car it is the choice if not ... you have to cabe the cab to go downtown, so the price will be less convenient. The breakfast is a only coffee and a cake.

We had a room with a gas fire which was quite cool. It was close to bus stops and a safeway was just up the road, and a laundromat accross the road.

The room was small and pillows were hard. They did not have anymore pillows available. The noise from other guests was quite bad too.

They advertise a continental breakfast but i would call it complimentary muffins and coffee instead.

You also had to request for your room to be made up if you left after the maid knocked on the door.

The planatarum ultra lounge near the motel has comedy on friday and saturday nights.

This little motel looks like a charming motor inn of the 1950s, so I was pleasantly surprised by how updated, clean, comfortable, and quiet the room was. This will definitely be my first choice on my next visit to Monterey. It's just a little outside the main "city," but that means instead of a 3-minute drive to downtown, it's a 5-minute drive - a fair trade given the outrageous cost of lodging in downtown or Cannery Row.

My room had a very comfortable king-sized bed, a gas fireplace (!), a mini-fridge, and a microwave. This motel was an incredible value for the price, given the outrageous cost of lodging (generally) in Monterey. My only recommendations are to bring a hairdryer if you need one, as there isn't one in-room, and to stop at a store and get some real soap, as the tiny little soaps in the bathroom border on ridiculous.

Tried other hotels but they were already booked for the night we wanted to stay. Sorry we didn't wait a couple of weeks and get a much better place for the price almost 150.00 for 1 night in a really small dark room. We wanted to get an early start so we went down the street to Gramma's Kitchen for coffee and breakfast because the office didn't open until 7:30. Worst hotel we have ever stayed in and this is our 4th vacation this year now that we are retired.

After reading the reviews, I was concerned. Mostly unfounded. While it is an older hotel, with old beds and furniture, it was fairly comfortable. Carpets were dirty, but the beds and bathroom were clean. My group had six of the rooms, and all were in the same condition. For a little more, you can get a much nicer place, but if money is that tight, this place will do.
