Location was very convienent to Hwy and downtown Monterey and Carmel. Great covered parking garage.

Room was large, but configured very poorly. TV was wayyyy too far away from the bed. Walls are very thin but didn't cause too much of a problem.

Nice treat in the afternoon delivered to your room. Snacks and bottled water.

This was the 3rd stop on our road trip after San francisco and Yosemite, before we got to Santa Barbara via the PCH Route 1.

For a night stop I could not fault the location of the hotel, as it is next to the interstate. The staff were friendly, check-in was easy and the rooms very clean and tidy. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean and it had a good shower over the bath. The shower curtain rail is curved, so you don't get stuck to the curtain when taking a shower, which is ideal.

There is ample parking around the hotel and there are spaces underground. Although our room on the 2nd floor faced the road, that was of little concern as we were here for only 1 night.

To get into Monterey is a 5 min drive and we opted to go to the sea life centre and take in a meal by the sea.

If I was staying for some time in Monterey I would probably opt for a Hotel by the cannery, but for doing a road-trip down the Paciffic Coast Highway, I think it is in an ideal prime location and could not fault it. I had a very comfortable stay and was checked out by 0800 ready for my "dream drive" down the PCH. There is also tea and coffee by the door on the way out to grab a few coffees before your drive on, which is a great touch.

This is a bland chain hotel nothing remarkable but clean and comfortable with good road access that makes for a good base to explore the area. You will need a car as there is nothing really walkable nearby. The staff were welcoming and the laundry and business centre were useful. I have stayed here before and would stay here again.

Wife and I were in Monterey for a family wedding. HGI was quite nice. Had a bright sunlit room on top (3rd) floor, facing East with a large private deck to sit out on. The room was quiet and we got a good night's sleep. We didn't go down to the pool since we forgot our swin suits, but it looked great, sheltered from the wind, and there was also a hot tub. The check-in experience was very good and the woman doing it was quite pleasant as well. The hotel location included free parking and had easy access to downtown Monterey, the freeway, Carmel. We found the Del Monte Shopping Center just a few minutes south 1 exit. Another nicety was the morning cook to order full hot breakfast in which you could have fruit, oatmeal, omelettes, ham, bacon, sausage, french toast, pancakes, hash browns - you name it! Often the quality of these meals is not the best - but this one was excellent! The chef was quite pleasant and very skillful! All in all, a great experience for my first Trip Advisor contribution.
