only shortcomings are lack of true room service and WiFi costs $10/night. There is a free Continental breakfast but no on the spur of the moment ordering of food or drink (the breakfast is supplied from a hotel kitchen down the street). I've stayed at lesser hotels that provide free WiFi and don't understand why higher end, classier hotels don't. Feels like they are trying to milk you for all they can get.
Otherwise, our favorite hotel stay on the Monterey Peninsula. Charming, romantic, hospitable. Love the real in-room fireplace. Great to have roaring fire and listen to the crashing surf on the beach below.
