We reserved an oceanfront room. The view was spectacular! We could hear every wave, the seagull, smell the ocean and watch the activity on the water. My husband is on the last days on his journey of life. I notified the hotel of his visual and hearing impairments, along with the fact that he cannot walk on the beach therefore we wanted to be as close to that as possible. When we arrived, not only did they decorate the room with rose petals, balloons and sparkling cider, but a pair of binoculars for my husband to see through! The breakfast was included and nicly done. This saves you from having to go anywhere for coffee after waking up. There are breads, boiled eggs, fruits and cereal to have as wel. The ADA room had a large seat that lowered from the shower wall, and a special moblil hand held shower head at seated level. I could go on and on, however I'd never do enough justice. Rosie decorated our room and happily brought our breakfast each day. She was so thoughtful. Stephanie, front desk manager, found out we'd ordered coffee from room service one afternoon and decided to brew us a pot herself and bring it up. That saved us the cost of the room service, but also showed a kindness that cannot be faked. Everyone was very friednly and made sure to say hello, goodbye or how was your outing. We felt like family. Thank you to all.

Room tip: Oceanfront, either regular or corner provides the best experience

By far the most expensive hotel I live stayed at. The price was very high for the US Open, but not much different from far less hotels.

My wife and I usually stay at larger corporate hotels, so this was our first stay at a smaller boutique.

Location-Perfect. Right on the water. Within walking distance to several great shops and restaurants. Cannery Row is awesome.

Staff-Perfect. Everyone was nice and helpful.

Room-The view and open windows were amazing. Slept all 3 nights with the windows open, cool breeze, crashing waves. Perfect! The room was a bit smaller than I expected, though we made it work. Came with a fridge and grabbed some drinks from across the street. You could tell the hotel is old, but I thought the room was adequately updated. My only complaint, the bed seemed a little slanted to one direction. It felt a little worn and lumpy. But after walking Pebble Beach each day, I passed out still each night.

I would definitely stay again and will look to again in 8 years for the 2027 US Open!

Stayed here for 3 nights. Best location in Monterey. Fantastic and attentive front desk and valet staff. Room was amazing. Large with fireplace , comfy bed and window seating. We had views of the ocean and Cannery row. We enjoyed the breakfast brought to the room and complimentary cheese and wine from 4-6pm.
Valet parking was well worth it. No hassle no worry. Located in the heart of all the shops and restaurants. 2 minute walk to the Aquarium ( an absolute must see ). It is located right on the ocean front. One of the nicest places I’ve ever stayed and would definitely recommend it.

i love the rooms and the location of this hotel is great (I stayed at this hotel years ago) but the smokey smell in the room was a bit too overpowering for me so we'll probably be trying another hotel for our next stay in Monterey.

Hello euichki,

Thank you for your review, we are very appreciate of your feedback. While we were thrilled to welcome you back on your recent trip to Monterey, we regret to hear that your stay was less than entirely comfortable due to the smell from the wood burning fireplace and that we were unable to amend prior to your departure. We are continually evaluating ways to enhance the experience for our guests and will share your comments with our team. We'd love the opportunity to welcome you back to Cannery Row with a visit to our sister property, the Monterey Bay Inn, where there are no wood burning fireplaces. We hope to see you back on your future travels to Monterey!

Sincerely,
Management of the Inns of Monterey

Elegant hotel with wonderful and helpful staff! Well appointed room with terrific views of the ocean. Walk to Aquarium and dinner. Can't wait to return. Staying right in Cannery Row is a wonderful mix of old and new resting on the shore.
