We ate here years ago when it was upstairs, and the food was wonderful and it was clean. What I ate was good, but we were seated at a table w/a dirty tablecloth! The walls were splashed w/food that had been there for G-d knows how long. Filth was all along the edges of the floor and it was black and thick. Chair backs were not clean either. I would do take out, but this place needs to be closed down and scrubbed from top to bottom on a much more regular basis. Service was slow and we were the only ones there for 10 min before 2 other parties came in. Very sad they don't take pride in their appearance.

We like eating here because it's conveniently close to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, right on Cannery Row. There's never any wait, and after eating you can walk off your meal shopping for souvenirs. The chicken pad thai noodles are average- and our pre-school children enjoyed it. Portion sizes are okay. One pad thai noodle dish and one green curry with one order of rice provided more than enough food for two adults and two small children.
The green curry is a dish we have gotten a couple times now, and it's always a hit. Love the bamboo shoots and the coconut. A bit spicy, and delicious with the jasmine rice. But get this-- you have to order the rice separate from the curry! I asked the server, "So, do people eat the curry without the rice??" and his response was, "Well, most people eat family style and order the rice separately." Okay, so I paid $14 for the curry, and then had to order my rice for another few bucks. Close to $17 for one curry dish. Does anyone eat curry without the rice???
Probably just another way to milk money out of anyone who wants to eat on Cannery Row. Just expect to pay DOUBLE for most meals in this high-tourist area. I would recommend this place only if you really want to eat somewhere on Cannery Row and you're really craving Asian food- which we were.

Popped in here for a quick meal on the way to the nearby Aquarium and considering the somewhat tacky tourist location on Cannery Row, the food was decent, service functional and price reasonable. Worth a try.
