“good family outing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 December 2013

There are lots of activities, but everything costs money. You have to pay for admission, and then most attractions have an additional cost -- pony rides, petting areas, bounce house... You buy tickets at the gate, and then use them for the attractions. Seems a bit overpriced. There are annual passes available, but you still have to buy tickets for the attractions. They have a farmer's market area. Young kids will enjoy it.

Underwood farms takes you back to the old days where corn fields exist and animals are there to pet and observe. Lots of fun and outdoor beauty for everyone!

“Fall Festival debacle”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 October 2013

Went to the Underwood Farms Fall Festival last weekend. Avoid this event on the weekends if possible. If you want to go, make sure you go early or late. It is billed as a family attraction but with the crowd it is more like survival of the fittest. There are no real line designations for getting on rides or games and the staff is oblivious to people cutting in line. They also allowed people to smooz there way to the front of the line.

The pig races were not worth it as they got so crowded that people blocked the race area when they sat on the ground. Once again the staff had no idea what crowd control was and just let everyone in. I am sure the Fire Marshall would not have approved this arrangement. For those of us who got their early and got seats, it just was not worth it. Wasted 45 minutes sitting when we could have done more at the event.

There were just too many people and I am sure Underwood just wants to pull in as many people as possible. The Parking is not well designed with only one way in and out. During the week is probably better even though some of the attractions are not open but on the weekend, this place is not a farm it is a zoo!

“Great place to spend a day with your family.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2013 via mobile

Underwood Family Farms is a great local spot. They have their farm stand in front with the freshest fruits and vegetables available and I visit there at least once a week (closed during winter). They also have the best birthday parties for children. Skip the overdone bowling alley and Chuck E Cheese and spend a day outside with your child and their friends. Their pumpkin patch is also unbeatable. Aside from the huge selection of pumpkins, there's a great corn maze, fun (and safe) rides and tons of other activities for you and the kids. A true gem of Moorpark.

“Excellent outing for the family”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 May 2013

Took the missus and the kiddies (5 and 3 yrs old) and it's a really nice experience for the whole family. We went because we wanted to take the kids strawberry picking which this place offers. I've never been to a "pick you own" kind of farm, let alone a real farm, so this was an experience for me as well.

We went for the strawberries but were pleasantly surprised to find that they had all kinds of things for the kids to enjoy. There were farm animals in corrals that you can walk around and see, even a petting area with goats, sheep and unusual looking chickens. They have a small theater where they put on a little animal show. Small coin-operated electric tractors the kids could ride, a playground, etc. Most of the things you can walk around and do for free but some rides have a fee which is like a carnival where you have to buy tickets and each ride is a different cost.

The farm itself has a lot of fields where they grow all kinds of fruits and vegetables and depending on the season, you can pick different things. They have a tractor with a wagon that acts as a shuttle to get you out to the fields. They offer a lot of wagons and wheelbarrows you can use for free to haul in your load, or just pull the kiddies around in.

Really good experience, less than an hour outside of LA, will go again. Perfect for little kids, I'd say 3rd grade and below. Weekends cost $6/person (weekdays $3) and the price of fruit/vegetables vary per pound. They have one little concession stand that sells hotdogs and such and of course, a bit on the pricey side. I think you can bring your own food in. Recommend going in the morning (opens at 9 am) to avoid the afternoon heat, especially if you're going to pick from the fields.
