“cigarettes, dogs and alcohol problem inside the preserve”
Reviewed 18 November 2013

We are coming to this park with our three small kids to escape dogs and cigarettes, unfortunately
people are sneaking in dogs and letting them run loose, recently we had encounter with two senior citizens (!!!) who were drunk (they were holding beer cans in their hands), and their two dogs, one big, one small. Dogs were running loose without leash, the older couple was loud and disrespectful to us and to the park rules as they passed sign " no dogs allowed" .
Beautiful park, but it needs a sign " be aware of drunkards and irresponsible dog lovers".
Another time we had to point to someone " no smoking" sign, this is sad how people are disrespectful to others and to the park rules. I think it would be a good idea to charge entrance fee and fine those who are ignorant.

“Fall colors everywhere !”
Reviewed 14 November 2013

Easy walk/hike with many paths and boardwalks. kid friendly but no dogs. Oasis and desert, lots of shady spots to picnic with views of mountains and marsh. A great place to see fall colors and a few other interesting things. Nature at its best so take a camera, open year around.

“Handicapped Accesible - Worth the drive from Palm Springs - Give yourself a Day”
Reviewed 7 October 2013

If you like being outdoors and being part of nature - this is a wonderful and amazing place to spend the day. Every few seconds it seems to change. One moment in an Oasis environment, the next in desert, the next high up on the mountains and suddenly back on the valley floor.

Many different trails. And, the nicest part, one of the trails is completely handicapped accessible. If you know someone in a wheelchair or who needs level ground to walk on, this is the place. Everyone will enjoy.

Highly recommended.

“-~`”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

Not far from the village of Morongo Valley this preserve is an awesome oasis on the edge of the Mojave Desert, a site of natural swamps and tiny bodies of water that has served a foundation for water flora and has played host to migrating birds for decades. Sitting on top of an earthquake fault, not far from the San Andreas, this place is a bird watcher's and nature photographer's paradise. A series of inner walkways with observation benches built with eco-friendly material and outer hiking trails that overlook the Coachella Valley make a great getaway for nature lovers. Being a local resident here, I often take visitors here to share the tranquility of this unique setting. It is open year-round and admission is free.
