“We'll be back!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 August 2011

We took the finest view, finest room, and never regretted the cost. Yes, the sea lions were noisy, so we shut the slider at bed time...No problem, and the sea lion season is almost over, so if you think it'll be a problem, ask when they're gone. All day, it's fun to hear them, and see pelicans winging just over your head, sea lions paddling, wrestling (mating play?) and an otter smashing open his breakfast just under the balcony...Great!
The welcome is the best! and the helpfulness of Molly and Jeff (didn't get to meet Roger) was wonderful. We loved staying there.

Room Tip: #201 is the best room

Molly,Geoff and Roger were the most welcoming hosts that we have ever encountered. We booked the Anderson Inn after it was recommended to us by another couple from the UK who did the Pacific Coast Highway as part of their honeymoon. We arrived and were greeted by Molly who treated us like part of the family. We were shown to a fabulous room overlooking the bay. The room was exceptionally clean as was the bathroom with two terraces/ balcony's for our sole use. .The shower in the bathroom was an enormous walk in one with multiple jets like you get in spa's. We had fluffy White towels and good quality bathing products as well as a coffee maker.
Molly Geoff and Roger were full of tips for the local area and their enthusiasm for their area was contagious.
We recommend the fabulous restaurant under the Anderson Inn called The Galley, top class seafood, simply cooked to let you appreciate the flavours. The staff here were also extremely friendly and made us feel special. In fact we ate there both nights as we were so impressed and eager to sample other dishes.
We also recommend Frankie and Lola's for a fabulous breakfast menu.
We will definitely be returning to the Anderson Inn when we are next in the area.

We could only stay for a night but found the service to be outstanding, the operators, a family, accommodating, friendly and professional. Each person we dealt with valued us as customers and bent over backwards to make sure we had a great time, meeting us when we arrived late and allowing us to check out late so we'd have more time to visit nearby Hearst Castle. I can't say say enough about the personal warmth exuded by the owners.

The room was spacious, comfortable, spotless and filled with newer technology. Beds were very comfortable.

The hotel is on the central strip along the water, the area teeming with people -- more of a fun weekend away rather than a quiet get-away.

My wife and I were looking for a one-night escape from the LA Basin to celebrate our 18th anniversary. With the Central Coast as our destination, we scoured TripAdvisor for a nice place to stay... and stumbled upon the Anderson Inn in Morro Bay. While we prefer larger hotels (loaded with amenities), we took a gamble on the eight-room inn based on its positive recommendations. Thankfully, the others were right!

Mr. Anderson checked us into our premium room (over the water!) personally, and even brought us cold cream for the morning coffee (we put it in the fridge). He was very friendly and helpful, and recommended a great place for dinner (directly below our room!).

The room itself was spotlessly clean, nicely sized with a very comfortable bed, plenty of pillows and a thick comforter. There is a gas fireplace that puts out tons of heat, dual sinks, multi-head shower, ample towels, robes and a spa tub. You can't ask for more.

Our room overlooked the bay for spectacular sunsets. While the sea lions were a bit noisy, shutting the dual-pane sliding door silenced them very well. It was very, very relaxing.

Room Tip: Go for one of the three premium rooms over the bay, well worth the price premium.

My husband and I were on our last night of a road trip. It was mid-afternoon and we didn't have a place reserved for that night yet (very unlike me!). I searched tripadvisor and found the Anderson Inn. Upon calling and speaking with Mollie, we had our place to stay that evening. Mollie was extremely helpful and patient. She even secured a dinner reservation for us at the restaurant downstairs (The Galley). Upon entering our room, we were pleasantly surprised. Yes, the Anderson Inn gets fantastic reviews on tripadvisor, but being a frequent traveler and also a very fussy person, I was very surprised at just how nice our room was! We had a room that was waterfront with a small fireplace. And, Mollie even went out of her way to put cream in our refrigerator so we could make coffee in the morning. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had a shower and a jetted tub. Mollie introduced us to her brother Jeff the evening we checked in and then her mother in the morning. The Anderson Inn has become our new favorite place to stay! We'll definitely be back! Thanks Mollie and Jeff!

Room Tip: Reserve a waterfront room...it's worth the extra money!

We only had on night in the Anderson Inn, which is a shame because it is an incredible location. I was a little nervous driving in to Morro Bay because the town looked a little past its best. This is, however, an unfair characterization, and Anderson Inn is certainly th best that Morro Bay has to offer. Molly greeted us personally, and was excited to tell us our room had been upgraded (at no cost) because one of the (well-in-advance-booked) waterfront rooms had cancelled.

The room itself was amazing. Everything was of the highest quality, spotless and the jacuzzi bath was great. The view of Morro Bay and Morro Rock filling the window was unsurpassable. Molly was very kind and made us feel right at home. The Galley Restaurant (the best in town I suspect!) was literally below our room (though there was no noise upstairs). Molly reserved us a special table for dinner there (and it is highly recommended).

Just one point to note - breakfast is not included (this wasn't a problem but I just hadn't realized, so wanted to point it out). Molly had plenty of recommendations for breakfast, however!

Room Tip: Waterfront rooms are incredible, overhanging the water, wake up to direct Morro Rock view
