“Nothing short of fantastic!”
Reviewed 15 July 2010

We found Anderson Inn through Tripadvisor and booked a night there in May, when traveling down Highway 1 on our US vacation.
The owners welcomed us upon arrival, gave us a much appreciated tour of the property and set us up with a beautiful room on the second floor overlooking the bay and the Embarcadero.
The room was top notch, the best we stayed in during our 2 week vacation in California. Better than any Hilton or other upscale property and the food in the adjacent restaurant "The Galley" was magnificent!
I could not give this hotel a higher rating - super nice property, clean, great amenities and equipment in the room and the personal attention and service we got was really the best we experienced during our entire vacation! Thank you Jeff and Molly - you made our stay a memory for life!

This inn is exactly as others have described it- lovely, clean well appointed and very caring owners. We loved every moment of our stay here- it is really romantic! The restaurant downstairs served wonderful food and were friendly and accomodating. The weather did not cooperate and did not let us have the "perfect view" however, we didn't mind one bit.

The owners were so sweet- we accidentally took the keys with us and emailed them to apologize. No problem whatsoever.

We would recommend this hotel without a single reservation. And wish it were closer so we could go again.

After trying other upscale hotels in Morro Bay we stumbled across the Anderson Inn--- and are now heartily recommending it to our friends.

The accommodations are first-class, with stunning ocean views, 1000-count sheets, proximity to great dining and perhaps most important, personal attention from the owners. We give it an enthusiastic five stars!

This was the final night of our week long stay in CA and that's probably a good thing b/c if we had started here- the bar would've been set way too high and the rest of our hotels would've fallen well below expectations. Molly and Anderson Inn were such a breath of fresh air. We had just come from 2 nights at The Lodge at Pebble Beach where we payed $600/night and the Anderson Inn was head and shoulders above PB. Molly took great care with us when we checked in. Everything you might need during your stay is in the room and should you think of something else that isn't there- I'm sure they would come running with it. We had a side view of the ocean and the room even had binoculars! We also ate at their restaurant that night and it was all it was promised to be. Hands down the best seafood we had the whole trip. Can't say enough about this gem of a place! We were only sad to be leaving so early that we had less than 24 hours in Morro Bay. Thanks Anderson Inn for ending our trip on such a high note!

The other reviewers are not overstating what a wonderful place this is! We stayed for 2 nights with our 2 twenty-something kids to celebrate a college graduation. What an incredible time! The location is perfect - right on the water in the middle of everything. And the owners - Molly, Jeff and Rodger were the perfect hosts! They made us feel like we were their most important guests - friends, actually. And the room is beautiful. We had a room with 2 beds, which was located along the side of the hotel. But the view from our balcony was still incredible - right out to Morro Bay and the rock. I'd highly recommend one of the front rooms directly over the bay, though, if you don't need two beds.

Don't missing out on kayaking in the bay. Right next to the Anderson Inn is the Rock Kayak Co. The owner will get you set up and give instructions for even the unexperienced older people! We were able to kayak right by sea otters and sea lions! And didn't get wet at all.

We're already talking about our next trip to Morro Bay and our next stay at the Anderson Inn. Thanks Molly, Jeff & Rodger for a wonderful time!!

Myself and my husband stayed at the Anderson Inn in October 2008 as part of out honeymoon around California... When we arrived after a few hours drive from LA we were made so welcome...Unfortunately my husband left out money, marriage certifcate, plane tickets in LA, however Jeff the owner managed to locate all of this and arranged for us to collect it from the hotel in LA. This really is the most beautiful hotel in the world, I could really not have asked for more the hotel is surreal and seeing really is believing...all i can say is thank you for making this the most enjoyable stay of my life..
