We spent a night here on our trip along highway one. Location is great - in the sense that is right across Morro Rock which is pretty cool - yet it is also located at the end/beginning of Embarcadero and is industrial looking. In other words - there is fishermans harbour in front of it and their neighbour is big ugly power plant.
The rooms are small but clean. Our was on the ground floor and right in the corner next to the breakfast room, so a little noisy in the morning if you want to sleep in. Get a a room on the upper level if you can. There was a coupon for two cinnamon buns as well which we really enjoyed.
In the end I feel we payed a lot of money for a rather small room. Apparently, this is normal for the area, so my advice is to spend a night away from the bay and just visit the rock.
BTW - This hotel also allows dogs and actively welcomes them and their owners.

Room Tip: Get one on the top floor - better views

We spent teo nights here last week. Yes, the rooms are tiny as reported, but unless you plan to spend a lot of time in them the rest of the place more than makes up for it. Our room was immaculate and the service was very friendly. We had our small dog with us, and quite a goodie bag was waiting for him: blanket, food and water bowls, dog biscuits, poopie bags, even a squeeky toy :) several nice outdoor lounging areas, one with views of the Rock. Convenient breakfast spot (not a breakfast room but a galley . . . . Take breakfast outside. Included all the usual continental breakfast items but a bonus: a coupon for each morning for a huge, delicious, fresh baked that morning cinnimon roll for each person from the adjoining restaurant (which, from the crowd that starting arriving at 6:30 each morning must serve a pretty good breakfast.). Location was great! Walk to everything, including Giovanni's; our room included a certificate for one fish and chip meal there . . . . Huge and delicious, we shared it for lunch.

Highly recommended!

Room Tip: We were downstairs, room 5, which was perfect for us and our dog.

We have been visiting Morro Day for 8 of the past 10 years. It was my husband's favorite place, and when he died last November, I knew that my daughter's first Father's Day without him would be spent at Morro Bay. This time, however, we would be bringing two little dogs, and where we usually stayed was not pet-friendly. By sheer luck, I called the Bayfront Inn. I'd often thought it would be cool to stay there - it's just two doors down from Frankie and Lola's cafe where you can get the best breakfast in town. Jane, who answered the phone when I called to make a reservation, told me I was in luck. They had just one room left and pets were welcome. Not only that, pets would receive a welcome bag and "yappy meals" upon arrival! My daughter was delighted!
Jane had told me that the room was small - it was, but it was perfect for the two of us and our puppies. Jane had even bought flowers for me! The goody bag for the puppies had two fleece blankets, toys, snacks, all of which we brought home with us. We had complimentary cinnamon buns at Frankie and Lolas, a gift voucher for fish and chips at Giovannis, free ice creams and a wine tasting. In the morning, coffee, cereal, fruit, boiled eggs, toast was available in the galley.
We stayed for four nights - the bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept in away from home, the wi-fi was great, the only noise at night was the barking of the sea-lions (and that's a great sound!). It is perfectly located for those who like to stroll along the embarcadero, or just hang out on the patio looking at Morro Rock.
I loved it and will be back again.
If you're looking for a big resort with a pool, it's not the place for you. But if you need a cosy, welcoming place for a short stay, it's perfect.

Room Tip: We had a ground floor room with easy access to the galley, the patio, the gate. Parking is great es...

We love Trip Advisor and use it every time we book a hotel in the UK or abroad and for nearly all our bookings it works really really well. Unfortunately not for this one! We were looking for somewhere to stay between Monterey and Santa Barbara in the US and this place had decent reviews so we booked it. It cost us $181. When we arrived we were shocked to see that it's close to a power station for a start and you accessed the room from the outside (motel style). The room was really small - about 10x10ft and pretty dated. The walls and ceiling are really thin so you can hear the other guests really easily. The bed slanted at the sides so you felt you were going to fall out. The shower was pretty temperamental, I assume someone elsewhere flushed a toilet while I was showering because it suddenly went scolding hot. Then my husband had a shower after me and couldn't get any hot water! The toilet seat fell off at one point too!

They do include a packet of crisps, some sweets, 2 bottles of water and 2 capri sun and there is a fridge and a coffee maker. The man that checked us in seemed nice. The location is good - very close to the seafront and restaurants about 5 mins walk away.

All in all though - a shocking stay for $181 - I would have expected to pay no more than $70 for this place.

The "power plant" is appx 500 feet to the north and is a closed down plant. We have no authority to tear down the towers which to us locals, is a monument that reminds us that we are almost home. Our website shows pictures of our hotel as does Expedia and Booking.com. We give an accurate description of our rooms and our amenities. A motel revival is very cool. Now, slanted bed - not in our rooms - hear other guests, could be. We have a quiet time at 10pm and we have this posted so that our guests will be considerate after that time, and we respond to guest complaints. What we include is a welcome 2 bottles of bottled water, 2 juice packets, a snack package, a 5 piece fish&chips meal, a light continental breakfast, and freshly baked cinnamon buns. The guest may or may not choose to partake in all these goodies. Hey, our place small, low key, and fun. It's not for everyone...and certainly not for smokers as we don't allow smoking on or near premises. Sorry that this guest couldn't enjoy themselves here.

We stayed for 4 nights and had such a good time we can't wait to go again next year. The people were so friendly and the rooms were small but cozy. They welcome us and our dog gizmo. I recommend that if your going to morro bay and have a furry friend, stay at the bay front inn.

Room Tip: Had a great time. Cozy, friendly and Gizmo loved his bag of goodies. Would recommend it to anyone wh...

Met all of our needs, including accom. 2 adults and 2 small dogs with a great welcome bag of goodies for the pooches! Small but comfortable room & bed and as close as you can get to Morro Rock! For a 1-2 night stay easy & perfect for walking along the strand & visiting shops!
