We stayed here a few nights ago and were really happy with the location, quality, and price of the hotel. We stayed in room 304 with a view of the bay and the rock ~ my only complaint was that the door was REALLY hard to open and close. Hopefully that can get fixed as guests do pay extra for that view. An elderly guest probably wouldn't be able to open and close the door ~ my boyfriend even had trouble.

The rooms are spacious and the hotel was recently renovated so everything is modern and new! And it is 2 blocks from the bay ~ fantastic location! Free parking! Free breakfast! We will definitely be back!

Our first night on the second floor didn't go that we'll since there was a loud family of five above us. The next morning the friendly, helpful staff worked with us to move us to the third floor with a great view in Room 305. We truly appreciated that they gave us a discounted rate and that it was clear they wanted us happy for the next three nights. We loved the beds and a nice comfortable chair with ottoman, two comfy chairs on the terrace, a large shower with good water pressure, a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker, hair dryer, good lighting, good wi fi, good breakfast with several choices, and good parking. We would definitely stay again as we felt we received good value for our dollars. Good location too for easy walking! Highly recommend the third floor.

Room Tip: Our Room 305 was very good. I would think any room on the third floor will be nice and quiet, but so...

Stayed here Friday night before Labor Day. Paid $180 + tax for a king room with sea view & balcony. Unfortunately, our view of Morro rock was blocked by a large tree opposite the motel (rooms 301 & 302 are affected). Rooms 303-305 look like they would have unblocked views but they were already occupied. Room 306 has an unblocked view too but it had no balcony so we chose to stay in our room. We didn't realize the AC was an in-wall unit which was very noisy. Also, our unit's vent was loose and could not be directed so it blew on me the whole night and I woke up with a stuffed nose. The circulation in the room is poor so only the area within the direct blast of the ac is cool. The rest of the room stayed warm so we had to leave the ac running the whole night.

Rest of the room was basic for a motel of this standard. Free breakfast was the usual crappy stuff - crappy bread, no butter (only country crock), poor coffee... boiled eggs and sausages were fine. Waffles were heavy and chewy. We had much better breakfast at Homewood Suites in Oxnard for much less money.

We paid extra for the view but it was not worth it. Unless you like to surf, there's not much reason to visit Morro Bay but if you're in the area, do have dinner at the Galley Restaurant on the Embarcadero. Great food, views and atmosphere. We won't likely be back.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms 301 & 302 if you want a view of Morro Rock. Try to get rooms 303-305.

The hotel is very average in terms of hotels. It charges an arm and a leg when it is 90% full. For example, we spent $250 on a Saturday night. Unfortunately, it is the only game in town in terms of close proximity to the attractions and the small downtown (all restaurants close at an unreasonable 9pm!!).
The breakfast was included in the high prices, but it was barely passable. The eggs looked like something from a science fiction film. Everything else was adequate.
On the better side, the room were large, comfortable, and were supremely clean. The service was good also.
The high price is difficult to digest, especially after the fact that we spent less than that at a beach front, full service Marriott in South Beach.

Dear rkmajumdar,

Thank you for your feedback. I'm glad that you enjoyed our hotel and the amenities that we have to offer. Morro Bay is located in a small town known for the quiet atmosphere charm so things usually do close down early. Also, being a coastal property, our rates do fluctuate depending on the season. With that being said, we do maintain extremely competitive rates for the value we offer in comparison to other hotels in town. You arrived on a busy Saturday night in August which is the peak of our season. However, our fall rates start in September and hopefully you can give us a try then. To make reservations please call 805-772-4483.

Best Regards,
Lacey

We stayed here during the week for one night. The staff was very nice and welcoming. We got a new, clean room for $99 and this included breakfast.

Unfortunately, we were on the second floor (room 211) and we could hear every step the people above us took; the floor was very loud and squeaky. We would have called to ask for another room but we knew that the third floor was sold out from when we checked-in. I mentioned this to the nice, young British man at check-out. He apologized and said that he would let the manager know.

Our stay included a self-serve breakfast. I was happy to have cereal, hard boiled eggs, coffee and juice. They so had danish, scrambled eggs, and sausage. The breakfast room was light and roomy. It was busy but there was enough room to move around and there was plenty of seating.

The Comfort Inn is comfortable and clean. Be aware of the squeaky floors. This as very annoying, especially late at night when you're trying to sleep and the guests above your are seemingly pacing the floor.

This well-appointed inn is just a one-block walk to the waterfront in Morro Bay. We paid the little bit extra for a harbor/ocean view room, and it was well worth the price. Clean and comfortable, with a nice hot breakfast in the morning -- my wife loved the four mini-waffles out of the waffle maker instead of the usual big waffle that breaks into fourths.

Room Tip: Pay the extra price for the view room. Even if it's so foggy you can't see the rock (as hap...
