Right smack in the middle of town and on a hill, about 100 FT in from the Main Street, we could see the ocean and Morro Rock from this hotel. Accommodations were nice and there were a microwave and refrigerator in the room which is always a plus. Continental breakfast was a little lacking with cold cereals, pastries, and hard boiled eggs, but nothing hot except for beverages. However, there is a restaurant called Dorns next to the hotel which serves a full flown menu. My girls loved the Eggs Benedict but be aware that these are served only on weekends. I researched several other places at Morro Bay but stayed away due to noise issues. Had no such problems at the Blue Sail Inn. Head for town (walking towards the ocean from the hotel) take a right and there is a nice walking path to Morro Rock. It was a nice early morning walk where I spotted 14 sea otters floating on their backs half way out to the rock. Would certainly like to stay here again on my next visit to Morro Bay.

Room Tip: Ocean view rooms are nice!

Thank you Arnold for your nice review. The hotel is at a very convenient location to enjoy the Embarcadero and as you mentioned the walking path to Morro Rock. Dorn's does serve a very nice breakfast and it's hard to walk by each morning and not stop in when you smell such good food cooking. We would love to see you the next time you visit Morro Bay too!

What a fabulous find. Located just a block from the water and shops, this Inn offers spectacular views of Morro Bay and Morro Rock. The room was spacious, clean and nicely decorated. It included a refrigerator and microwave. My bed was quite comfortable. Our room had a balcony that looked out the the bay. The staff was friendly. I would stay here again!

Room Tip: Ask for a room that looks out to the bay

Booked the room on advice from a friend. Fantastic choice overlooking the waterfront shops and the bay. Couldn't have been better. I would definitely stay there again. Easy walk to the beach the rock and shops.

Thank you for taking the advice of your friend. We have been having great weather in Morro Bay this March. This makes it very easy to enjoy the walk path to the rock as well as the shops and restaurants. We hope to see you again, Nikki

The hotel has a very good location close to the harbour and sea. We stayed here for one night. The room was large with large beds but was maybe a bit dated in the design. Everything was clean though. There was a refrigerator, microwave oven, coffe making facilities and a television in the room. Wifi was not complimentary and there is no safe in the room. The bathroom had a shower and bathtub. Breakfast was a tiny buffet with no fresh bread and no hot dishes. The best thing with the hotel was the location.

My husband surprised with an awesome dinner at Jacko's and we decided instead of driving home we would try and find a room that turned into an epic disaster !!!! There were no rooms available within a 100 mile radius of morro bay we thought it was because it valentines day weekend but apparently there was a huge horse show in paso Robles and there was absolutely nothing we could not believe it ! After our dinner and calling literally every hotel on the central coast we were about ready to give up and make the 70 mile drive home ..., we decided to call the blue sail we didn't care were we stayed at this point as it was 10:30 pm we got lucky with the blue sail inn the nice front desk man said he just had someone had not shown up and he had one room left two queens with a partial view for $140 . I wasn't expecting much but was I surprised when we walked inn to the room ... I am the most pickiest person alive when it comes to rooms this room was spotless not a speck of dirt or grime anywhere !!!!! It smelled so clean and the liens were stark white and fresh and the room was HUGE !!!!! The bathroom was very clean and big and I know this might be kinda funny but when I was a child the first thing I would do is run to the bathroom to make sure the toilet had a paper band around the it that showed it was clean lol lol lol this place had one I was over the moon lol lol lol ..., we have been coming to morro bay are whole lives and stayed almost everywhere but here ..... We will always and only stay here during ours many visits to morro bay and we can't wait to stay in one of the suites !!!! Thank you Blue sail inn for holding such high standards of service this is what the hotel industry is missing !!!!! Can't wait to come back !!!!!

We stayed here for the first time in December when we visited Morro Bay and watched the Lighted Boat Parade. The offer stated we would have an ocean view which we did, but it was a view over the roof of the hotel. We had expected to be able to watch the parade from our room. Found out we would have to upgrade to get a "real" ocean view......But it turned out well anyway as we had dinner on the wharf with a window seat right on the water.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay at the Blue Sail Inn at Morro Bay. The hotel room was very spacious, comfortable and clean. The staff was very friendly, helpful and responsive to our needs. We had a plumbing issue around 9:00pm one night and they were up in our room within 15 minutes to resolve it. The location is excellent--walking distance to many good restaurants and cute shops. "During our stay we traveled up and down the coast a bit and it was an excellent location within 15-20 minutes of Hearst Caste, Pismo Beach and San Luis Obispo.
The one weak area was the breakfast. They only served hard boiled eggs on the weekends--why I am not sure. The first 2 days they had a nice assortment of fruit but by our 3rd day there were no bananas or apples. When I inquired about this they said they hadn't gone shopping yet that week. It seems to me a rather simple matter to keep the fruit supply constant. I also would have liked to have seen the assortment of bagels and muffins varied from day to day.
However, the coffee was good and there was oatmeal and cereal and a variety of spreads to put on the bagels. Orange juice was also available. All in all it was a good experience.

Room Tip: We stayed in the annex across from the main building. It was very quiet and parking was plentiful.
