We stayed for a week at the Pleasant Inn in Morro Bay and what a find! It is a small nostalgic type motel reminiscent of those from the 60's that has been updated in the past couple of years. Big bonus is that Sandy the manager is there on site, is well invested in the area, and has a wealth of information and suggestions to make your stay an adventure and enjoyable. Our unit had a "full" kitchen. There is a stove and oven, mini fridge and microwave. For the most part, the kitchen is equipped but could be updated with new cooking and prep wares, they are a bit dated. It sufficed for the amount of meals we were planning to make since the area was so rich in dining and eating establishments. With that said, the motel is an easy walk down to the Embarcadero that hosts a great array of restaurants and some shops as well as Main Street that boasts the same. If you are staying for the weekend, park your car and leave it if your goal is to get to know Morro Bay. The "Rock" is within blocks, great dining almost at your front door, and a stroll on the beach within easy reach and access by foot (1/2 or so mile). The only downside was internet/wifi access. It was hit and miss. This was a working vacation and we were forced to rely on our portable travelling device services. Another issues was that there is not a hair dryer in the bathroom or any outlets within reach to plug one in if you brought your own. We went to a drug store and bought a multi-plug surge protector so we could use our printer and computer. With that said, we will definitely return. It is a charming and wonderful establishment.
