“Room is a Mixed Bag”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

Entering the room, we were pleasantly surprised. It was a good size, had a fireplace, and a comfortable king sized bed. Aside from patches of clean paint which didn't match with the rest of the room, there was a gross, rusted ceiling panel over the shower. The location was good because it is two blocks from many restaurants and shops.

Stayed in the Pacific Shores Inn for a night. For $100 we got given a huge room with king bed, fridge, microwave, super comfortable, very quiet. Location was great, close to the harbour. The manager was lovely, no fuss, very helpful. I can only recommend it.

Pacific shores needs some updating. The rooms are nice however could use refurbishing. Building is looking a bit tired too. Location is excellent with a great view of the bay and rock. Close to food and shopping

Room Tip: Choose a fireplace room on the 3rd floor.

we had two rooms above owner ,11 &12.first off they had a couple living on the property for over 3 weeks with a crying baby and selling drugs.it had no screens on the windows, filthy shower curtain, clogged sink, filthy coffee pot, flat pillows, blood stained blankets,i would have liked to sleep with the windows open but was afraid of the no screens and someone trying to come in.please dont say its cheap and you get what u pay for, all they need is to clean better and replace missing or broken stuff, the owners are cheapskates. at least upgrade for what you charge.

Thank you for taking the time to write about our hotel. We appreciate your comments and concerns. We truly care about our guests comfort. I would just like to let you know room 11 & 12 are on the 2nd floor and below you is room 14 and you were not below the managers unit. I can assure you as the General Manager at the hotel I am extremely concerned with you as a guest. Thank you again for taking the time to bring these issues to my attention and I will be sure to personally follow up with each department.

I called ahead for same day reservation on a Friday night w/minimal notice (around 4pm arrived 9pm-ish) We travel quite often as a military family, & can honestly say one of the best if not THE GREATEST for location & value. True as other reviews state that this is an under 5 star hotel but for the cost, FRIENDLY customer service & amenities available..This is a GEM in coastal California! AWESOME comfortable king bed, EXCELLENT water pressure (hottt water!!), free parking & wifi! What more could you ask for?.. & there's more!! Our king suite came with a fridge, micro, ceiling fan, working fire place (which we purchased a $4 log at reception desk, btw it jus makes me giggle reading other reviewers comments regarding the log costs, if they are looking for fancy shmancy than they can go pay for a 5 star hotel) as far as thin walls or noise? We are on 1st floor on a Friday night on a gorgeous weather day/night. It's super quiet inside & outside being this late (1am) & warm enough to walk around w/out a sweater in Feb. Such a treat to find such a quant stop along our way to visit the Redwoods! Also, I think the neg reviews are majority from complainers seeking special treatment.. If your kind, warm & friendly, chances are it will be returned no matter where in the world you are! Enjoy your travels!

The reason for writing this review is to recommend travelers NOT to stay here. I guess if you got a really cheap rate and wanted just a place to sleep, then it would be OK. Very outdated rooms, noisy wall heater, unfriendly staff. Take note: their website advertised an indoor hot tub, but this is not the case. There used to be one, but it is empty, in a boarded up room. Thinking of enjoying a nice fire? Be sure to either bring you own DuraFlame log or you can buy one at the front desk. The only positive is that the location is very close to the waterfront.
